Resurfacing Scheduled on Several State Highways Next Week in Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is scheduled on several state highways next week in Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties under several projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.

The work schedules and locations are:

Philadelphia

  • Beginning 9:00 AM, Monday, November 14, through 3:00 PM, Friday, November 18, a 24/7 outer lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S.1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Rhawn Street and Grant Avenue for inlet repair;
  • Beginning 9:00 AM, Wednesday, November 16, through 3:00 PM, Thursday, November 17, a 24/7 inner lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S.1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Rhawn Street and Tyson Avenue for inlet repair; and
  • Friday, November 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, an inner lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Rhawn Street and Tyson Avenue for inlet repair.

Chester County

  • Monday, November 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Dowlin Forge Road between Route 282 (Creek Road) and the Dowlin Forge Road bridge over East Branch Brandywine Creek in East Brandywine and Uwchlan townships for paving;
  • Monday, November 14, and Tuesday, November 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) between Hanover Street and Temple Road in North Coventry Township for paving;
  • Monday, November 14, through Friday, November 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Valley Creek Road between Boot Road and Ravin Road in East Caln and East Bradford townships for milling and paving;
  • Monday, November 14, through Friday, November 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM a lane closure is scheduled on Spring Mill Road between Burnt Mill Road and Norway Road in Kennett Township for milling and paving; and
  • Tuesday, November 15, through Thursday, November 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Newark Road between the Delaware state line and Broad Run Road in New Garden Township for paving.

Delaware County

  • Sunday, November 13, through Thursday, November 17, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Darby Paoli Road between Bryn Mawr Avenue and Brooke Road in Radnor Township for paving;
  • Sunday, November 13, through Thursday, November 17, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Goshen Road between Route 252 (Newtown Street Road) and Darby Paoli Road in Newtown and Radnor townships for paving;
  • Sunday, November 13, through Thursday, November 17, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on St. Davids Road between Church Road and the Route 252 (Darby Paoli Road) Interchange in Newtown and Radnor townships for paving;
  • Sunday, November 13, through Thursday, November 17, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Bryn Mawr Avenue between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and the Bryn Mawr Avenue bridge over Darby Creek in Newtown and Radnor townships for paving; and
  • Monday, November 14, through Wednesday, November 16, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Larkin Road between Route 491 (Naamens Creek Road) and Chichester Avenue and Bethel Avenue between U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) and Dutton Street in Upper Chichester Township for milling and paving.

Montgomery County

  • Sunday, November 13, through Thursday, November 17, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Lumber Street/Hoppenville Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Geryville Pike in Green Lane Borough and Marlborough Township for base repair; 
  • Sunday, November 13, through Thursday, November 17, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Barndt Road between Old Sumneytown Pike and Route 563 (Ridge Road) in Upper Salford Township for base repair;
  • Sunday, November 13, through Thursday, November 17, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Davisville Road between Route 611 (Old York Road) and County Line Road in Upper Moreland Township for milling and base repair;
  • Monday, November 14, through Friday, November 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Yerkes Road between Route 29 (Collegeville Road) and the end of roadway and on Yerkes Road between Level Road and the end of roadway in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships for milling and paving;
  • Wednesday, November 16, through Friday, November 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on New Hanover Square Road between Bleim Road and the New Hanover Township line in Lower Pottsgrove Township for milling and paving; and
  • Wednesday, November 16, through Friday, November 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Davisville Road between Route 611 (Old York Road) and County Line Road in Upper Moreland Township for utility adjustments.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. Local access All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these resurfacing projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
