The repair work on the sinkhole on U.S. 202 between Henderson Road and Saulin Boulevard is expected to be completed in time for Friday morning's rush hour.

PennDOT announced that a left lane closure will remain in place on northbound U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) between Henderson Road and Saulin Boulevard for sinkhole repair. This is the same section of U.S. 202 that was shut down in July 2023 and December 2023 for additional sinkhole repair.
The lane closure has been in place since early Thursday morning after a depression in the pavement developed in the northbound travel lanes.
A left lane closure is expected to be in place sometime today, April 18, to allow PennDOT's contractor to perform necessary repairs so the highway can safely reopen to traffic.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because significant backups and delays will occur. Local access will be maintained for all residents and businesses.

ReadyMontco - Upper Merion Twp Alert

As part of the distribution system (pipeline) maintenance program, Pennsylvania American Water will be temporarily changing its disinfection treatment process in the greater Norristown system from a chloramine (combined) residual to free chlorine residual. Customers may notice an increase in the taste and smell of chlorine in the water as a result of the change. This will be temporary during the system maintenance. The free chlorine residual treatment change will take place beginning April 17, 2024, and will transition back to a chloramine residual on June 26, 2024.

PennDOT announced that maintenance crews will be repairing deteriorated pavement in Upper Merion Township and neighboring communities including:
I-76 and ramps in Lower Merion and Upper Merion townships and West Conshohocken Borough.
U.S. 422 and ramps in West Norriton and Upper Merion townships.
Crews will restrict travel lanes to patch areas of deteriorating pavement. Motorists are advised to be alert of this moving operation and to expect intermittent lane closures and possible slowdowns when driving near work crews. All activities are weather dependent.
Motorists are reminded to slow down in the work zone and refrain from distracted driving to keep themselves and workers safe.
Motorists are encouraged to report potholes on www.penndot.pa.gov or 1-800-FIX-ROAD

ReadyMontco - Upper Merion TwpECO Project to Begin in the Monroe Boulevard Vicinity in Upper Merion Township Alert

PECO will be upgrading and installing new equipment to enhance the local electric distribution system on sidewalks and streets in the vicinity of Monroe Boulevard. Work is expected to start in April of 2024 and will be completed in June of 2024. A qualified PECO contractor will be performing the work from 7:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday.
Crews may need to temporarily interrupt service to safely complete some of this work. PECO will work with local residents to ensure they are informed in advance of the activities and any planned interruptions.
