Bridge Deck Repair Continues on Strickersville Road in Elk, Franklin Townships
King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge deck repair continues on the bridge carrying Strickersville Road over Big Elk Creek in Elk and Franklin townships, Chester County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, November 18, through Friday, January 10, 2025, Strickersville Road will be closed 24/7 between Route 841 (Chesterville Road) and Mount Olive Road. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Route 841 (Chesterville Road), Route 896 (New London Road), and Appleton Road.
Built in 1938, the Strickersville bridge over Big Elk Creek carries approximately 725 vehicles, daily.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
