PennDOT - District 6 News
Resurfacing Planned on Several State Highways in Chester, Montgomery Counties
King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is planned on several state highways in Chester and Montgomery counties, under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Chester County
- Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Homeville Road/Cream Road/Scroggy Road between Bryson Road and Pine Street in Upper Oxford and Lower Oxford townships and Oxford Borough for base repair.
- Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is schedule on Street Road/Township Road between Forge Road and Dalton Road in Lower Oxford for base repair.
- Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 896 (Newark Road) between Homeville Road and Baltimore Pike in Upper Oxford Township for base repair.
- Tuesday, November 19, through Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Union School Road between Street Road and Cream Road in Lower Oxford Township for paving.
- Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Edenton Road/Ewing Road between Route 896 (Newark Road) and Route 926 (Street Road) in Upper Oxford Township for base repair.
- Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 926 (Street Road) between Ewing Road and Route 10 (Limestone Road) in Upper Oxford Township for base repair.
Montgomery County
- Sunday, November 17, through Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled in both directions on Gulph Road at the Route 23 (West Valley Forge Road) Intersection in Upper Merion Township for milling and paving.
- Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled at the Joshua Road and Germantown Pike Intersection in Whitemarsh Township for milling and paving.
- Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled at the Joshua Road and Ridge Pike Intersection in Whitemarsh Township for milling and paving.
- Tuesday, November 19, through Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Flint Hill Road/Jefferson Street between Route 320 (Swedeland Road) and Fourth Street in Upper Merion Township for paving.
- Wednesday, November 20, through Friday, November 22, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Hector Street between Apple Street and North Lane in Conshohocken Borough and Whitemarsh Township for milling and paving.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
