Whitemarsh Township Declares Snow Emergency

*Snow and Ice Emergency Declaration*

Whitemarsh Township has declared a Snow and Ice Emergency on Friday, January 23rd, 2026.

Snow and Ice Declaration Procedures by Ordinance
• Parking on ANY street within the township shall be limited to the EVEN address side of the street.
• Within 24 hours after the cessation of snow, it is the property owner's responsibility to clear or cause to be cleared any sidewalk upon which their property borders.
• Snow or ice removed from the sidewalk shall be placed on the owner's property and may include the curbline.
• Snow or ice shall never be moved into the street from a property.

What can you do to help?
• Please avoid traveling during the storm unless you are an essential employee or emergency responder.
• Use off-street parking whenever possible.
• Do not park near storm drains.
• Prepare for potential power outages by keeping phones charged, checking generators, and having flashlights with fresh batteries on hand.
• Check on your elderly or medically vulnerable neighbors.
• Support our volunteer fire companies by shoveling out fire hydrants near your property.
• Stay clear of Public Works crews so they can safely and efficiently do their jobs.
• Take a moment to thank our First Responders, Public Works crews, and Utility Company responders—they will be working tirelessly to keep our community safe and our roads clear.
