ATTENTION WEST POTTSGROVE RESIDENTS
Tonight, the Pottsgrove School District Board will be holding its meeting to discuss the upcoming district budget. This matters because approximately 77% of your annual local tax dollars go directly to PGSD, and the district has maintained one of the highest tax rates in Montgomery County, with consistent increases over many years.
West Pottsgrove Township is essentially built out and contributes about 15% of the district’s student population, yet our residents pay the same tax rate as Upper and Lower Pottsgrove—areas that continue to grow, add housing, and increase student enrollment. More students mean more services, and those costs ultimately shape the budget and the tax rate for all three municipalities.
Tonight’s meeting is one of the few opportunities for residents to ask questions, seek clarity, and voice concerns about how tax dollars are being allocated and what drives the district’s financial decisions. If you want transparency, accountability, or simply a better understanding of where your money goes, this is the place to engage.
Your participation matters. Your questions matter. Your tax dollars matter.
