Report Information

Current Activation Level: III-Limited Activation

 Key Updates

  1. EOC status moved from Level IV-normal operations to Level III-Limited Activation.
  2. EOC monitoring weather conditions.
  3. All Chester County school districts and CCIU schools, programs and offices are closed.
  4. All Chester County government offices are closed. 

Event Summary

Chester County remains in Winter Storm Warning until 1600 hours. Rain has transitioned to snow across Chester County.  4-6 inches of snow is still expected for Chester County with southern areas of the County receiving lower amounts. The EOC is currently staffed at Level III.

Weather Update:

Today:             Snow, mainly before 11am. The snow could be heavy at times. Some thunder is also possible. High near 31. Blustery, with a northwest wind 20 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches possible.

Overnight:      Partly cloudy, with a low around 16. West wind 10 to 16 mph.

Current Weather Conditions:

Total Snow Accumulation: 0.6"-2.4" across the County

Wind Speed:  North 13, Gusts at 21mph

Current Temp:  32 dgF (Pottstown-Limerick Airport)

Wind chill:  22 dgF (Pottstown-Limerick Airport)

Visibility:  0.75 mi (Pottstown-Limerick Airport)

Transportation

  • PA Turnpike has issued a truck restriction for the entire system; commercial towing multi trailers (twins/doubles) and commercial towing empties.
  • Speed restrictions are reduced to 45mph effective from Somerset to Bensalem and North East Extension.

Accomplishments

  1. EOC activated and staffed to Level III: Partial Activation
  2. Coordinating and providing situational awareness to municipalities

  2. Continue to monitor road closures.
  3. Continue to monitor utilities.
