Route 32 (River Road) Lane Closures Next Week for Solebury Township's Route
202 Gateway Trail Project
3/31/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA
Weekday lane closures are scheduled on Route 32 (River Road) between Lower
York
Road and Chapel Road in Solebury Township, Bucks County, starting Monday,
April
3, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, as part of Solebury Township's $1.5 million
project
to create the Solebury Route 202 Gateway Trail, the Pennsylvania Department
of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The weekday lane closures will be
in
effect through early November.
The Solebury Route 202 Gateway Trail will provide a 10-foot-wide,
shared-use
trail for pedestrians and bicyclists. This new section makes several safety
improvements along Route 32 (River Road), including a dedicated left turn
lane
at the Route 202 intersection, curb ramps and crosswalks, and extensive
signage. Work is expected to be completed by November 2017.
From Monday, April 3, through Friday, April 7, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the
left lane in each direction will be closed for concrete median removal and
asphalt replacement. The right lane in each direction will be closed
beginning
Friday, April 7, and remain closed for the duration of the project for
shoulder
widening and trail installation.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area
because slowdowns may occur. The work schedule is dependent on the weather.
James D Morrissey Inc. of Philadelphia, PA, is the general contractor on
this
improvement contract that is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
