Overnight Lane Closures Scheduled on Several State Highways for Electronic
Sign Installations in the Philadelphia Region

Overnight travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state
highways
in the Philadelphia region for installation of electronic message signs,
the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Wednesday, July 5, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, two
lanes
are scheduled to close on northbound Interstate 476 between the U.S. 30
(Lancaster Avenue) and Interstate 76 interchanges in Montgomery County;
• Wednesday, July 5, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, lanes
to
closures are scheduled on Woodhaven Road (Route 63) between U.S. 13
(Bristol
Pike) and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) in Philadelphia;
• Thursday, July 6, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, two
lanes
are scheduled to close on southbound I-476 between the Ridge Pike and I-76
interchanges in Montgomery County; and
• Friday, July 7, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, one lane
is
scheduled to close on northbound Interstate 95 between the Woodhaven Road
(Route 63) and Street Road (Route 132) interchanges in Bucks County.


Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area

because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather
dependent.

The sign work is part of PennDOT's initiative to update Intelligent
Transportation Systems' (ITS) equipment on regional highways.
