I-95 and Front Street Travel Restrictions Scheduled for Bridge Inspections
in Philadelphia

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week for bridge inspections on
Interstate 95 and Front Street in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department
of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, August 28, Tuesday, August 29, and Thursday, August 31, from 9:00
AM
to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on the northbound deck of the

I-95 Girard Point Bridge;
• Tuesday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a left lane closure is
scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Columbus Boulevard/Washington
Avenue
and Broad Street (Route 611) interchanges;
• Tuesday, August 29, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Broad Street (Route 611) and
Columbus
Boulevard/Washington Avenue interchanges;
• Wednesday, August 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on the southbound deck of the I-95 Girard Point Bridge;
• Wednesday, August 30, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a left lane closure is
scheduled on northbound Front Street between Packer Avenue and Oregon
Avenue;
and
• Wednesday, August 30, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on southbound Front Street between Oregon Avenue and Packer
Avenue.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas
because slowdowns will occur. The schedules are dependent on the weather.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of
the
structures.
