I-95, I-476 and U.S. 422 Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week for Bridge
Inspections in Philadelphia & Montgomery County

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week for bridge inspections on
Interstate 95, Interstate 476 and U.S. 422 in Philadelphia and Montgomery
County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced
today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, August 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane restriction is
scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Columbus Boulevard/Washington
Avenue
and Walt Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Monday, August 7, and Tuesday, August 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right
lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-476 between the Interstate 76 and
Conshohocken interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County;
• Tuesday, August 8, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Girard Avenue/Lehigh Avenue and
Allegheny Avenue /Castor Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, August 8, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is
scheduled
on southbound I-95 between the Allegheny Avenue/Castor Avenue and Girard
Avenue/Delaware Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, August 9, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, a left lane closure is
scheduled on the ramp from Academy Road to northbound I-95 in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, August 9, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on the ramp from southbound I-95 to Academy Road in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, August 9, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on the ramp from Academy Road to southbound I-95 in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, August 9, and Thursday, August 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a
right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-476 between the
Conshohocken
and I-76 interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County; and
• Friday, August 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Egypt Road and Route 363 (Trooper Road)
interchanges in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships, Montgomery
County.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas
because slowdowns will occur. The schedules are dependent on the weather.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of
the
structures.
