I-95, U.S. 1 Travel Restrictions Next Week for Bridge Inspections in
Philadelphia and Bucks Counties

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 and U.S. 1
(Lincoln Highway) in Philadelphia and Bucks counties for bridge
inspections,
the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, December 18, and Wednesday, December 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
a
temporary moving left lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between
the
westbound Interstate 676 and Cottman Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, December 19, and Wednesday, December 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM, a
temporary moving right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between
the
Bridge Street and Allegheny Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, December 19, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on northbound U.S.1 (Lincoln Highway) between the Neshaminy and
Business U.S. 1 interchanges in Bensalem Township, Bucks County; and
• Tuesday, December 19, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on southbound U.S.1 (Lincoln Highway) between the Business U.S. 1
and
Neshaminy interchanges in Bensalem Township, Bucks County.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas
because slowdowns will occur. All activities are weather dependent.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of
the
structures.
