PennDOT - District 6 News: I-76, I-476 Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Montgomery and Delaware Counties

I-76, I-476 Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Montgomery and Delaware Counties

​King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on several state highways in Montgomery and Delaware counties including Interstate 76 and Interstate 476 for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, April 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 at the I-476 North Interchange in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County;
  • Tuesday, April 9, through Thursday, April 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-476 between the I-76 and Conshohocken interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County;
  • Friday, April 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled Route 320 (North Chester Road) between Rutgers Avenue and College Avenue in Swarthmore Borough, Delaware County; and
  • Friday, April 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on Fayette Street between Route 23 (Front Street) and Elm Street in Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through all work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
