Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for High Friction Surface Treatment in Bucks and Chester Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Lane restrictions are scheduled on several state highways in Bucks and Chester counties, weekdays, on Monday, December 2, through Friday, December 13, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for high friction surface treatment, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

 The work locations include:

  • Allentown Road between Sterners Road and Schukraft Road in West Rockhill Township, Bucks County;
  • Allentown Road between Rosedale Road and Keiser Road in Milford Township, Bucks County;
  • Oakbourne Road between Concord Road and Beechwood Road in Westtown Township, Chester County; and
  • Strasburg Road between Route 82 (Doe Run Road) and Fairview Road in East Fallowfield Township, Chester County.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.

 The work is a part of a $4.7 million project to apply high friction surface treatment to various state highways across the Philadelphia Region.

 Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in March 2022.

 J.D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor in the project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
