The Montgomery Township Police Department is requesting the public's assistance with an assault investigation that took place in the area of Longleat Drive and Westgate Drive in Montgomery Township. The assault took place on 3/12/24 at approximately 5:15 pm. An unknown suspect approached a jogger from behind, grabbed her arm, and struck her in the face. The victim fought back with the suspect, who fled the area. The suspect was described as a white male who was approximately 20 years of age, had a thin build, and was around six feet tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt that was pulled up closely around his face, making identification difficult. After the assault, he was observed by the victim running towards Upper State Road. Police officers and a police canine immediately searched the area with negative results.
