Bridge Masonry Repair Scheduled on Centre Avenue in Newtown Township, Newtown Borough, Bucks County
King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge masonry repair is scheduled on the bridge carrying Centre Avenue over Newtown Creek in Newtown Township and Newtown Borough, Bucks County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Wednesday, November 13, through Wednesday, November 27, Centre Avenue will be closed 24/7 between Sycamore Street and State Street. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Sycamore Street, Washing Avenue, and State Street.
Built in 1796, the Centre Avenue bridge over Newtown Creek carries approximately 4,254 vehicles, daily.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
