Bridge Inspections Scheduled on I-95 and Several Other State Highways in Philadelphia
King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge inspections are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 and several other state highways in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Wednesday, November 6, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on the eastbound I-76 ramp to the Grays Ferry Avenue/University Avenue Interchange.
- Thursday, November 7, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, a right lane closure is scheduled on the eastbound I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) ramp to southbound I-95.
- Thursday, November 7, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on the northbound I-95 ramp to westbound I-676.
- Friday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on southbound Delaware Avenue between Berks Street and Palmer Street.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
