Resurfacing Planned on Several State Highways in Chester, Montgomery Counties
King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is planned on several state highways in Chester and Montgomery counties, under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Chester County
- Sunday, November 3, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, and Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Devon Road between Spruce Lane and Darby Road in Willistown, Easttown and Tredyffrin townships for milling and paving.
- Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Swedesford Road between Church Road and Route 252 (Bear Hill Road) in Tredyffrin Township for milling and paving.
- Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Homeville Road/Cream Road/Scroggy Road between Bryson Road and Pine Street in Upper Oxford and Lower Oxford townships and Oxford Borough for base repair.
- Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is schedule at the Street Road and Homeville Road Intersection in Upper Oxford Township for base repair.
- Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is schedule on Street Road/Township Road between Forge Road and Dalton Road in Lower Oxford for base repair.
Montgomery County
- Friday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Flint Hill Road/Jefferson Street between Route 320 (Swedeland Road) and Fourth Street in Upper Merion Township for milling.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
