Traffic Shift Planned at Night Next Week on U.S. 1 for Reconstruction in Bensalem Township
King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction is planned at night next week U.S. 1 in Bensalem Township under PennDOT's $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bucks County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Wednesday, November 13, and Thursday, November 14, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place in both directions on U.S. 1 between Rockhill Drive and Route 413 (Bellevue Avenue) for a traffic shift.
- Friday, November 22, through Sunday, November 24, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM the following morning, Rockhill Drive will be closed between Old Lincoln Highway and Neshaminy Boulevard for intersection reconstruction.
During the Rockhill Drive closure, motorists are directed to use the following detours:
- Rockhill Drive to U.S. 1 North: North on Neshaminy Blvd, west on Bristol Road, south on Old Lincoln highway to east on Street Road to the ramp to U.S. 1 north.
- U.S. 1 North to Rockhill Drive: North on U.S. 1, exit Penndel/Business U.S. 1, south on Old Lincoln Highway, east on Bristol Road, south on Neshaminy Boulevard back to Rockhill Drive.
- U.S. 1 South to Neshaminy Mall: Exit at Neshaminy/Rockhill Drive, west on Rockhill Drive, north on Old Lincoln Highway, east on Bristol Road, south on Neshaminy Boulevard.
The work is part of PennDOT's U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
