Bristol Road to Close at Route 263 (York Road) in Warminster and Warwick
Townships for Reconstruction

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced
that
Bristol Road will be closed and detoured on the east side of the
intersection
with Route 263 (York Road) in Warminster and Warwick townships, Bucks
County,
for six weeks, beginning Tuesday, September 20, for intersection
reconstruction.
The Bristol Road closure is associated with PennDOT's $31.6 million project
to
reconstruct and improve four miles of Route 263 (York Road) between Bristol
Road and Sugar Bottom Road in Warwick and Warminster townships.
Construction
began in March 2014 and is expected to finish in October 2017.
During construction to rebuild the east side of Bristol Road at its
approach to
Route 263 (York Road), Bristol Road through traffic will be detoured over
Route
332 (Jacksonville Road) and Route 132 (Street Road) and Route 263 (York
Road).
Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Eastbound
Bristol
Road traffic will be able to reach Route 263 (York Road) to travel north or
south during construction; however, eastbound travelers will not be able to
cross the intersection. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when
traveling through the area.
The east side of Bristol Road is expected to reopen in early November.
Earlier
this summer, the contractor rebuilt the west side of Bristol Road at Route
263
(York Road).
PennDOT is rebuilding Route 263 to provide a smoother, safer roadway for
motorists for decades to come. The improvements include full depth pavement
reconstruction of the existing four-lane concrete road and intersection
improvements.
In addition, crews are rehabilitating the bridge over the Neshaminy Creek;
rehabilitating the bridge that spans the Little Neshaminy Creek and Creek
Road;
improving drainage; installing new traffic signal equipment, guiderail,
signs,
pavement markings and curb ramps; and relocating aerial and underground
utilities.
To enhance travel along the corridor, PennDOT is installing new traffic
signals
at seven intersections on Route 263. The intersections include Tulip Road,
Kendarbren Drive/Private Drive, Kendarbren Drive/Ridge Drive, Bristol Road,
Meyer Way, Almshouse Road and Mill Road. Turn lanes are being lengthened or
added at Route 263's intersections with Bristol Road, Meyer Way and
Almshouse
Road. A new traffic signal also is being installed at Deer Run Drive.
The $31,571,380 project is financed with 100 percent federal funds. J.D.
Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor.

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 for
construction
at the Cottman Avenue (Route 73) and Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue
interchanges in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
(PennDOT) said today.
The operations are associated with projects under construction to improve
the
Cottman Avenue (Route 73) Interchange and reconstruct and widen more than a
mile of I-95, and to improve the ramp system at the Betsy Ross
Bridge/Aramingo
Avenue Interchange.
The work schedule is:
• On Monday, September 12, through Friday, September 16, from 8:00 PM to
5:00
AM the following morning, one northbound and one southbound lane on I-95
will
be closed between the Bridge Street and Allegheny Avenue interchanges for
demolition of an overhead ramp at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue
Interchange;
• On Monday, September 12, through Friday, September 16, from 8:00 PM to
5:00
AM the following morning, northbound and southbound I-95 will be reduced
from
three lanes to two from 8:00 PM to midnight, then from two lanes to one
from
12:01 AM to 5:00 AM the following morning between the Bridge Street and
Academy
Road interchanges for installation of Intelligent Transportation System
(ITS)
wiring and equipment;
• On Friday morning, September 16, traffic stoppages of up to 15 minutes
will
occur periodically between 12:01 AM and 5:00 AM on I-95 south at the
Cottman
Avenue (Route 73) Interchange for installation of overhead structures to
hold
ITS equipment;
• On Sunday, September 11, through Friday, September 16, the I-95 north
off-ramp to Cottman Avenue (Route 73) will be closed for paving on the
northbound side of I-95. Motorists will be detoured north on I-95 to the
exit
at the Academy Road Interchange, then right on Linden Avenue, and right on
State Road to Cottman Avenue (Route 73); and
• On Sunday, September 11, through Friday, September 16, the Princeton
Avenue
on-ramp to I-95 north will be closed from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following
morning for overhead bridge construction. Motorists will be detoured north
on
State Road, then left on Linden Avenue, then right on the ramp to I-95
north at
the Academy Road Interchange.

202 south in East Whiteland Township, Chester County, for the connection of
a
new fiber optic line for Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)
components,
the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said today.
On Saturday, September 10, and again on Saturday, September 17, from 5:00
AM to
10:00 AM, U.S. 202 south will be reduced from three lanes to two between
the
Route 401 and U.S. 30 interchanges as crews splice the new 144-strand line
into
the ITS system.
The former 24-strand line was installed above ground on poles approximately
15
years ago with the original ITS installations on U.S. 202. The new line,
which
was placed in underground conduit, will better serve the operation of
highway
cameras, dynamic message boards, travel time readers and other ITS
components
in place on U.S. 202 in Chester County.
This operation is part of the recently completed $63.3 million project to
widen
and reconstruct 2.5 miles of the expressway from north of Route 401 to U.S.
30,
and to rebuild and improve the Route 401 Interchange. PennDOT opened this
newly
expanded section of U.S. 202 to six lanes on August 3, 2016.
Allan A. Myers, LP of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general
contractor.
The contractor's schedule is weather dependent, and motorists are advised

Interstate 676 will be closed and detoured in both directions between the
Interstate 76 and Broad Street (Route 611) interchanges in Philadelphia on
Monday, September 12, through Thursday, September 15, from 11:00 PM to 5:00
AM
the following morning for overhead bridge construction, the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said today.
The overnight operation is associated with the four-year, $64.8 million
project
to replace seven structurally deficient bridges over I-676 between 22nd
Street
and 18th Street, and to make landscaping and streetscape improvements above
the
expressway. Construction began in April 2015 and will finish in fall 2019.
Crews will work overnight to remove part of the deck and beams from the
Benjamin Franklin Parkway/20th Street bridge over I-676. The contractor's
work
schedule is weather dependent.
When I-676 east is closed, the following detours will be in place:
•From I-76 east: Exit at 30th Street/Market Street (Exit 345); right at
Arch
Street; left at 30th Street; left at Market Street; left at 16th Street;
right
at Vine Street to the ramp to I-676 east;
•From I-76 west: Exit at 30th Street (Exit 345); take Schuylkill Avenue to
Market Street; right at Market Street; left at 16th Street; right at Vine
Street to the ramp to I-676 east; and
•Traveling east on Benjamin Franklin Parkway intending to use the 24th
Street
on-ramp: Follow Benjamin Franklin Parkway around Logan Circle and bear

When I-676 west is closed, the following detours will be in place for

Optional detours for passenger cars during the closure of I-676 west

Parkway and follow around Eakins Oval and onto Spring Garden Street to the
ramp
to I-76 west; and

Interstate 676 will be closed and detoured in both directions between the
Interstate 76 and Broad Street (Route 611) interchanges in Philadelphia on
Monday, September 12, through Thursday, September 15, from 11:00 PM to 5:00
AM
the following morning for overhead bridge construction, the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said today.
The overnight operation is associated with the four-year, $64.8 million
project
to replace seven structurally deficient bridges over I-676 between 22nd
Street
and 18th Street, and to make landscaping and streetscape improvements above
the
expressway. Construction began in April 2015 and will finish in fall 2019.
Crews will work overnight to remove part of the deck and beams from the
Benjamin Franklin Parkway/20th Street bridge over I-676. The contractor's
work
schedule is weather dependent.
When I-676 east is closed, the following detours will be in place:
•From I-76 east: Exit at 30th Street/Market Street (Exit 345); right at
Arch
Street; left at 30th Street; left at Market Street; left at 16th Street;
right
at Vine Street to the ramp to I-676 east;
•From I-76 west: Exit at 30th Street (Exit 345); take Schuylkill Avenue to
Market Street; right at Market Street; left at 16th Street; right at Vine
Street to the ramp to I-676 east; and
•Traveling east on Benjamin Franklin Parkway intending to use the 24th
Street
on-ramp: Follow Benjamin Franklin Parkway around Logan Circle and bear
right
onto Vine Street east; follow Vine Street to the ramp to I-676 east.
When I-676 west is closed, the following detours will be in place for
passenger
cars and trucks to follow:
•To I-76 East and West: Exit I-676 west at Broad Street (Route 611)
Interchange; take 15th Street south; right on J.F.K. Boulevard; right on
Schuylkill Avenue and follow signs to I-76 east and I-76 west;
•From 16th Street north of J.F.K. Boulevard: Follow 16th Street north;
right at
Spring Garden Street; right at 15th Street; right at J.F.K. Boulevard;
right on
Schuylkill Avenue to ramps to I-76 east and I-76 west; and
•From 16th Street south of J.F.K. Boulevard: Follow 16th Street north; left
at
J.F.K. Boulevard; right on Schuylkill Avenue to ramps to I-76 east and I-76
west.
Optional detours for passenger cars during the closure of I-676 west
include:
•To I-76 West: Exit I-676 west at Broad Street (Route 611) Interchange;
