Stump Hall Road to Close Next Monday for Pothole Patching in Worcester Township, Montgomery County

​King of Prussia, PA – Stump Hall Road will be closed and detoured between Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) and Grange Road in Worcester Township, Montgomery County on Monday, December 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00, for pothole patching operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

During the closure, Stump Hall Road motorists will be directed to use Route 363 (Valley Forge Road), Water Street Road and Grange Road. Local access will be maintained for residents and businesses. 

Motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel near the work area because backups may occur. This operation is weather dependent.

I-95, I-295 Overnight Double Lane Closure Next Week for Construction in Bucks County

King of Prussia, PA – Northbound Interstate 95 and eastbound Interstate 295 motorists will encounter a double lane closure between the Route 132 (Street Road) and Route 413 (Bristol) interchanges on Monday, December 3, through Friday, December 7, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM for subbase installation on a project to repair and resurface 13 miles of I-95 and I-295 in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and Lower Makefield townships, Bucks County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

In addition, single lane and shoulder closures will be in place on northbound and southbound I-95 between the Academy Road and Pennsylvania Turnpike interchanges on Monday, December 3, through Friday, December 7, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM for guide rail installation.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 and I-295 in the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling, overlaying and rehabilitating existing pavement; performing base repairs; installing new guide rail; repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs; performing minor bridge deck repairs; and installing rumble strips and delineators along the I-95 and I-295 corridor in Bucks County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed this year.

James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the $29,633,134 project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.

I-95 Lane Closures at Night Next Week for Lighting Improvements in Center City Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Interstate 95 motorists will encounter nighttime lane closures next week between the Washington Avenue/Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) and Interstate 676/Callowhill (Exit 22) interchanges in Philadelphia for work on a project to install a new underpass lighting system in the covered section of I-95 near Dock Street, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. All operations will take place from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, December 3, the left lane will be closed on northbound I-95;
  
• Monday, December 3, through Friday, December 7, the right lane will be closed on southbound I-95; and
  
• Tuesday, December 4, through Friday, December 7, the right lane will be closed on northbound I-95.
  

Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow more time for travel on I-95 in the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent. 

In addition to installing a new underpass lighting system, PennDOT's contractor is reconstructing five pump stations in Philadelphia and Bristol Township, Bucks County. All work on this project is scheduled to be completed in December 2019.

PKF-Mark III, Inc. of Newtown, Bucks County is the general contractor on the $29,884,795 improvement project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.

Merion Drive to Close, Cambridge Drive to Reopen at U.S. 322 in Concord Township, Delaware County

King of Prussia, PA – Merion Drive will be closed and detoured between Marlborough Lane and U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) in Concord Township, Delaware County for approximately five months beginning on Monday, December 10, for reconstruction on the eastbound side of the intersection at U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway), the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. 

During the closure, Merion Drive motorists will be directed to use Marlborough Lane, Cambridge Drive and U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway). Prior to the closure, the Cambridge Drive intersection with U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) will reopen to traffic.  

The two intersections are among eight being improved under a $62.6 million project to reconstruct, widen and upgrade traffic signals on 2.5 miles of U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) from U.S 1 (Baltimore Pike) to just east of Featherbed Lane/Mattson Road near Clayton Park.

J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on the project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.

Engineering design is advancing for the widening, reconstruction and other improvements on U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) from Clayton Park Drive to east of Route 452 (Market Street). Construction on this section (Section 102) is expected to start in late 2020.

An additional contract to replace the U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) bridge over the CSX railroad and Bethel Road as well as improvements to the adjacent Bethel Road Interchange is under design.

​King of Prussia, PA –  Motorists will encounter single lane closures in both directions on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) between the Interstate 476 Interchange and New Ardmore Avenue in Marple Township, Delaware County, on Monday, December 3, through Friday, December 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for excavation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. The schedule is weather dependent.

The excavation is part of a $3.9 million project by Marple Associates, LP to improve the I-476/Route 3 (West Chester Pike) Interchange. Marple Associates, LP will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

U.S. 202, U.S. 30 Lane and Ramp Closures Scheduled at Night Next Week for Construction in Chester County

King of Prussia, PA – Lane and ramp restrictions will be in place on northbound U.S. 202 and the eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass at night next week for construction activities that will complete replacement of the concrete pavement on the ramp from the Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 in East Whiteland Township, Chester County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. 

On Wednesday, December 5, through Friday, December 7, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, and to 9:00 AM Saturday, December 8, northbound U.S. 202 will be reduced from two-lanes-to-one between the Boot Road and Route 401 interchanges, and the ramp from eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 will be closed.

U.S. 30/Exton Bypass motorists heading to northbound U.S. 202 will be directed to exit at Business U.S. 30, turn right onto Business U.S. 30 and right onto the ramp to northbound U.S. 202.

The lane and ramp closures will allow crews to remove the temporary construction barriers on the ramp, re-align northbound U.S. 202 at the interchange, and paint new lane marking on the expressway and the ramp. The ramp will be re-opened to two lanes by 9:00 AM Saturday, December 8.

Construction on the ramp began last spring following replacement of the concrete pavement on the ramps from southbound U.S. 202 to Business 30 and the westbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass.

PennDOT replaced the concrete pavement on the ramps to and from the Bypass and U.S. 202 as part of the $26.4 million contract currently underway to rehabilitate and re-deck the northbound and southbound U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak at the southern end of the interchange.

Crews are wrapping-up work on the inside half of the southbound U.S. 202 bridge this fall and will begin work on the outer half of the bridge late this year. The entire project is expected to be completed in mid-2019. 

Allan A Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
