I-95, Route 29 (Bridge Street) Lane Closures Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Chester and Philadelphia Counties

​King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia and Route 29 in Chester County next week, for bridge inspection, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, November 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 29 (Bridge Street) between Starr Street and Walnut Street in Upper Providence Township and Phoenixville Borough, Chester County;
• Tuesday, November 5, through Friday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on southbound on southbound I-95 between Enterprise Avenue and Route 291/Philadelphia International Airport interchanges in Philadelphia; and
• Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, on northbound I-95 between Route 291 and Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.

U.S. 1, Street Road (Route 132) Lane Closures at Night Next Week for Construction in Bensalem Township

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures will be in place at night next week on U.S. 1 and Street Road (Route 132) for roadway and bridge construction and related activities on a project to reconstruct, widen and improve a 1.3-mile section of the highway in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. 

The work schedule is:

• Sunday, November 3, through Saturday, November 9, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, single lane closures will be in place periodically on northbound and southbound U.S. 1 between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway;
• Sunday, November 3, through Saturday, November 9, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, eastbound and westbound single lane closures will be in place periodically on Street Road (Route 132) between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way; and
• Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, northbound or southbound U.S. 1 will be reduced to a single lane between Rockhill Drive and Fairhill Avenue (south of the Belleview Avenue exit) for soil testing operations. Crews expect to complete northbound testing early in the week and shift operations to the southbound side by mid-week. 

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather permitting.

The work is part of a corridor improvement project to rebuild and widen U.S. 1; replace aging bridges; and install safety enhancements along a four-mile section of the expressway from just north of Philadelphia to just north of Route 413 (Pine Street) in Middletown Township and Langhorne Borough. Pennsylvania American Water to Restrict Route 724 (New Schuylkill Road) Next Week for Utility Construction

King of Prussia, PA – Pennsylvania American Water is planning a lane closure with flagging on Route 724 (New Schuylkill Road) between Anderson Road and Sanatoga Road in East Coventry Township, Chester County on Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for water main installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. 

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather permitting.

Pennsylvania American Water will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

PECO to Restrict Several State Highways Next Week for Utility Improvements in Bucks, Chester, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – PECO Energy is planning single lane closures next week from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on several state highways in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties for utility construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

Bucks County

• Wednesday, November 6, through Saturday, November 9, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 313 (Swamp Pike) between Creek Road and Chestnut Drive in Buckingham Township and Doylestown Borough.

Chester County

• Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on U.S. 322 (Horseshoe Pike) between Pinebrook Circle and Guthriesville Road in East Brandywine Township;
• Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 252 (Darby Paoli Road) between Argyle Road and Evergreen Lane in Easttown Township; and
• Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 113 (Bridge Street) between Hall Street and Walnut Street in Phoenixville Borough.

Montgomery County

• Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 63 (Moreland Road) between Frazier Avenue and Cleveland Avenue in Abington Township; and
• Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 63 (Welsh Road) between Oak Terrace Drive and Lloyd Road in Lower Gwynedd Township.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
