U.S. 202 Lane Closure, U.S. 30 Ramp Closure at Night Next Week for Pavement Marker Installation in Chester County

King of Prussia, PA –  Periodic lane closures will be in place on U.S. 202 in both directions between the Boot Road and Route 401 interchanges, and the ramp from U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 will be closed periodically on Monday, November 11, and Tuesday, November 12, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM for installation of recessed pavement markers and replacement of pavement joint seals on the bridges at the U.S.30/Exton Bypass Interchange in East Whiteland and West Whiteland townships, Chester County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. 

When the ramp is closed, U.S. 30/Exton Bypass motorists heading for northbound U.S. 202 will exit at Business U.S. 30, turn right onto Business U.S. 30 and right onto the ramp to northbound U.S. 202.  All activities are weather dependent.

The work is among the final items being completed under the $30.1 million project to rehabilitate the northbound and southbound U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak and the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass ramp, replace the concrete pavement on the ramps to and from U.S. 202 and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass, and complete other roadway and bridge improvements in the work area.

Allan A Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the Section 3RR project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. For more information, visit www.us202-300.com.

I-76 Overnight Lane Closures Next Weekend for ITS Installation in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – Interstate 76 motorists will encounter a lane closure in both directions from Belmont Avenue to just west of the Gladwyne Interchange in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County on Friday, November 15, and Saturday, November 16, from 11:00 PM to 9:00 AM, and Sunday, November 17, from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for installation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

In addition, periodic weekdays shoulder closures will remain in place on I-76 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at various locations between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Montgomery Drive in Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel in the work area because backups and slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent.

This work is part of the first phase of a long-range, comprehensive, multimodal transportation management plan designed to enhance travel and safety along the Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) corridor between King of Prussia and Philadelphia. For additional details, visit www.transform76.com.

Three State Highways at U.S. 422 Restricted Next Week for Bridge Construction in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – Three state highways at U.S. 422 in Upper Providence and Limerick townships, Montgomery County will be restricted next week for bridge construction under a project to rehabilitate and improve a five-mile section of the expressway between the Royersford/Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, November 11, through Thursday, November 14, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions with flagging will occur on Troutman Road between Ashenfelter Road and Groff Circle in Upper Providence Township;
• Monday, November 11, through Thursday, November 14, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions with flagging will occur on Upper Indian Head Road between Cider Mill Road and Winding Ridge Road in Upper Providence Township; and
• Monday, November 11, through Saturday, November 16, right lane closures will occur on Evergreen Road between Lightcap Road and Rupert Road in Limerick Township.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

U.S. 422 East Lane Closure at Night Next Week for Bridge Beam Placement in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – Eastbound U.S. 422 motorists will encounter a right lane closure between the Oaks and U.S. 202 interchanges on Monday, November 11, through Friday, November 15, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for bridge beam placement under a project to construct new, wider structures to carry U.S. 422 motorists over the Schuylkill River, Norfolk Southern Railroad, South Trooper Road and Schuylkill River Trail in West Norriton, Upper Merion and Lower Providence townships, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Drivers should allow additional time for travel in the construction zone because backups and delays will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent.

King of Prussia, PA – Verizon Pennsylvania is planning a lane closure on eastbound U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) between Lankenau Drive and U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County beginning Wednesday, November 13, for conduit installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.  Weather permitting, the lane closure will be in place weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM through Wednesday, November 20.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and slowdowns will occur.

Verizon Pennsylvania will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

Route 309 (Sellersville Bypass) Right Lane Closures Next Week for Survey, Shoulder Repair in Montgomery and Bucks Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Route 309 (Sellersville Bypass) motorists will encounter a weekday right lane closure in both directions between Unionville Pike and Reliance Road in Hatfield and Franconia townships and Souderton and Telford boroughs, Montgomery County, and Hilltown Township, Bucks County on Monday, November 11, through Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for survey and shoulder repair operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.  The work is part of a $53.5 million project to rehabilitate the pavement and repair several structures on a 9.1-mile section of Route 309 (Sellersville Bypass) in Bucks County.

The lane closures over the next several weeks will allow crews to reconstruct and pave the shoulders in order to shift traffic onto the temporary pavement before the end of the year under Stage 1 construction.  Once the new pattern is in place, activities over the winter will include center median and inlet reconstruction in the southern section of the project limits.

Under this project, PennDOT's contractor will reconstruct and rehabilitate the Route 309 corridor (Sellersville Bypass) from Unionville Pike in Hatfield Township, Montgomery County, to just north of Rich Hill Road in Richland Township, Bucks County. The improvement plan includes the following:

• Milling and overlay;
• Reconstructing shoulders;
• Installing new guide rail and median barrier;
• Replacing two bridge superstructures;
• Rehabilitating eight Route 309 bridges, four overhead bridges and four culverts;
• Repairing concrete ditches;
• Installing drainage improvements, new pavement markings and signs; and
• Integrating Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

James D. Morrissey, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.
