U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) Nighttime Lane Closures Next Week for Viaduct Construction in Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled on northbound and southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Fox Street and 17th Street in Philadelphia on Wednesday, December 18, through Friday, December 20, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for construction activities under a project to rehabilitate the half-mile-long Wayne Junction Viaduct which carries the expressway over SEPTA tracks, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) through the work areas because slowdowns and backups will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled for the following night.
South State, Inc. of Bridgeton, N.J. is the general contractor on the $89,955,398 project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2022. For more information, visit us1wav.com.

U.S. 422 Lane Closures Next Thursday for Barrier Removal in Limerick Township
King of Prussia, PA – U.S. 422 motorists will encounter single lane closures in both directions on Thursday, December 19 in Limerick Township, Montgomery County for barrier removal under a project to improve a five-mile section of the expressway between the Royersford/Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
