I-76 East Lane Closures Next Week for Tree Trimming Operations in Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties

​King of Prussia, PA – Overnight and daytime lane closures are scheduled on eastbound Interstate 76 in Montgomery and Philadelphia counties next week, for tree trimming operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, February 10, through Friday, February 14, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning between the Hollow Road on-ramp and Belmont Avenue Interchange in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County; and
• Wednesday, February 12 and Thursday, February 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, from just east of the University Avenue Interchange to the Passyunk Avenue Interchange in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

U.S. 422 West Lane Closure Monday for Survey Operation in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – Westbound U.S. 422 motorists will encounter a left lane and shoulder closure between Township Line Road and Park Road in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships, Montgomery County on Monday, February 10, from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for survey operations under a project to improve a five-mile section of the expressway between the Royersford/Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

SEPTA to Close Warminster Road Sunday for Track Repair in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – SEPTA is planning to close Warminster Road between Mill Road and Fulmore Avenue in Hatboro Borough and Upper Moreland Township, Montgomery County on Sunday, February 9, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM for track crossing repair, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

During construction, Warminster Road motorists will be directed to use Route 263 (York Road) and Byberry Road.  Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. This operation is weather dependent.

U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) Lane Closures at Night Next Week for Viaduct Construction in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Left lane closures are scheduled on northbound and southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Fox Street and 17th Street in Philadelphia on Monday, February 10, through Friday, February 14, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM for construction activities under a project to rehabilitate the half-mile-long Wayne Junction Viaduct which carries the expressway over SEPTA tracks, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) through the work areas because slowdowns and backups will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

South State, Inc. of Bridgeton, N.J. is the general contractor on the $90.7 million project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2022. For more information, visit us1wav.com.

I-76 East Lane Closure at Night Next Week for Viaduct Rehabilitation in Center City Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Eastbound Interstate 76 will be reduced to one lane between the Interstate 676 and South Street exits on Monday, February 10, through Thursday, February 13, from 9:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following morning for overhead viaduct construction in Center City Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

If any of the weeknight activities are cancelled due to weather, eastbound I-76 may be reduced to a single lane between the I-676 and South Street exits from 9:00 PM Friday, February 14, to 5:00 AM Saturday, February 15.

Drivers are advised to use an alternate route or allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. 

Repairs to the Schuylkill Avenue viaduct are part of PennDOT's $103.6 million project to rehabilitate the Chestnut Street bridge over the Schuylkill River — which is closed until August 2020 for repairs — and eight other nearby structures, including those carrying Schuylkill Avenue over I-76 between Walnut Street and Chestnut Street, and between Chestnut Street and Market Street. U.S. 202 (William F. Dannehower Bridge) Lane Closures Next Week for Bridge Inspection in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 202 (William F. Dannehower Bridge) next week in Upper Merion and East Norriton townships, Bridgeport Borough and Norristown, Montgomery County, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work locations are:

• Monday, February 10 and Tuesday, February 11, a right lane closure is scheduled northbound between U.S. 202 (Dekalb Street) and Main Street; and
• Wednesday, February 12 and Thursday, February 13, a right lane closure is scheduled southbound between Main Street and 4th Street Interchange.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
