Intermittent Traffic Stoppages on Schuylkill Avenue West Ramp to I-76 West/I-676 East in Philadelphia for Bridge Inspection

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced
that
intermittent traffic stoppages are scheduled on the westbound Schuylkill
Avenue
ramp to westbound Interstate 76 and eastbound Interstate 676 on Wednesday,
December 21, and Thursday, December 22, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM and from
1:00
PM to 2:00 PM, for a bridge inspection.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area
as
back-ups will occur. The work schedule is weather-dependent.
Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by
visiting
www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides
traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.

North Wales Water Authority and PECO Energy to Restrict State Roads
12/15/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA
The North Wales Water Authority will restrict Route 63 (Welsh Road) in
Montgomery County and PECO Energy will restrict Lower Valley Road in
Chester
County for utility installation, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation
(PennDOT) today announced.
The weather-dependent work schedule is;
• On Monday, December 19, and Tuesday, December 20, one lane will be close
on
Route 63 (Welsh Road) between Vernon Court and Orvilla Road in Towamencin
Township, Montgomery County, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for water main
installation; and
• On Tuesday, December 20, through Wednesday, December 28, one lane will be
closed on Lower Valley Road between South Lenover Road and Gap Newport Pike
in
West Sadsbury Township, Chester County, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for gas
service installation.
North Wales Water Authority and PECO Energy will the work under separate
PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permits.

Lane Restrictions Scheduled on U.S. 422 in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today
that
lane restrictions are scheduled next week on eastbound and westbound U.S.
422
between the Sanatoga and Route 724 interchanges in Lower Pottsgrove
Township,
Montgomery County.
The weather-dependent work schedule is:
• On Monday, December 19, through Wednesday, December, 21, the left lane
will
be closed on eastbound U.S. 422 between Route 724 and Sanatoga interchanges
from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for the installation of a construction access in
concrete barrier; and
• On Monday, December 19, through Thursday, December 22, the right lane
will be
closed on westbound U.S. 422 between Sanatoga and Route 724 interchanges
from
7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for bridge beam setting.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these
areas as
backups may occur.
The upcoming operations are part of PennDOT's $73.3 million project to
rebuild
1.6 miles of U.S. 422 between the Sanatoga and Route 724 (Schuylkill Road)
interchanges, and construct new bridges over the Schuylkill River and
Norfolk
Southern railroad tracks. Construction on the entire project is scheduled
to
finish in October 2018.
Under this project, PennDOT's contractor is building, in phases, new U.S.
422
structures over the Schuylkill River; new U.S. 422 structures over Norfolk
Southern railroad tracks; rebuilding U.S. 422 from the Schuylkill River
bridge
to the Porter Road overpass; installing new median barriers; replacing the
Armand Hammer Boulevard bridge over U.S. 422; improving and realigning
ramps at
the U.S. 422/Armand Hammer Boulevard Interchange; reconstructing and
realigning
the ramp from Route 724 to U.S. 422 east; improving storm water drainage;
erecting three overhead sign structures; installing conduit for future
Intelligent Transportation equipment; and installing new guide rail and
signs.
J.D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on
the
project that is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state
funds.
