Upper Southampton Township Authority Closes Bristol Road for Utility Work

​King of Prussia, PA – Upper Southampton Township Authority has closed Bristol Road between Route 232 (2nd Street Pike) and Churchville Road in Upper Southampton Township, Bucks County, for utility work, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The road is expected to be closed through Friday, November 30.

During the closure, Bristol Road motorists will be detoured over Route 232 (2nd Street Pike), Route 132 (Street Road) and Churchville Road.

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow for additional time when traveling near the work area. The schedule is weather dependent.

Upper Southampton Township Authority will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

Dauphin Street Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Resurfacing Operations in Philadelphia

​King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter lane closures on three state highways including Dauphin Street, on Monday, December 3, through Friday, December 7, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as part of a project to repair and resurface 15 miles of state highway in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
 
The work schedule is:

• Dauphin Street between Ridge Avenue and Aramingo Avenue, for line striping operations;
• Market Street between 2nd Street and 4th Street, for ADA curb ramp improvements; and
• 63rd Street between Passyunk Avenue and Lindbergh Boulevard, for paving operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.

State highway completed under this resurfacing project include:

• Lincoln Drive between West Cliveden Street and West Allens Lane;
• 29th Street between Girard Avenue and U.S. 13 (West Hunting Park Avenue;
• 26th Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Girard Avenue;
• 5th Street between Walnut Street and Race Street;
• Washington Lane between Chew Avenue and Route 309 (Cheltenham Avenue); and
• Philmont Avenue between Byberry Road and the Bucks County line.

State highways scheduled for resurfacing under this contract include:

• 65th Street between Kingsessing Avenue and Lindbergh Boulevard;
• Walnut Street (Route 3) between 24th Street and South Broad Street (Route 611); and
• The ramp from Front Street to southbound Interstate 95.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT will mill the existing roadway surface and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Tony DePaul and Son of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the $6,754,325 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.

Work on the project is expected to be completed in December 2018.

I-76 Overnight Lane Closures Next Week for Repair and Line Painting Operations in Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – Interstate 76 motorists will encounter periodic single lane closures in both directions between the U.S. 202 and U.S. 1 (City Avenue) interchanges on Monday, December 3, and Tuesday, December 4, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and Friday, December 7, and Saturday, December 8, from 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM, for repair and line painting operations on a project to repair and resurface 12.5 miles of I-76 in Upper Merion Township, West Conshohocken Borough and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling, overlaying and rehabilitating existing pavement; performing base repairs; installing new guide rail; repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs, two overhead sign structures and numerous expansion joints on three structures; and installing rumble strips, delineators and new mileage markers along the four-lane section of I-76.

The resurfacing of mainline I-76 in Montgomery County was completed in October 2017, while work on the entire project will finish this year.

J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County is the general contractor on the $24.7 million project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.

Girard Avenue, Palmer Street to Close Next Week at I-95 Interchange for Viaduct Demolition in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA - Several road and ramp closures will be in place next week at the Interstate 95/Girard Avenue Interchange in Philadelphia for demolition of a section of southbound viaduct between Palmer and Ann streets, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, November 26, and Tuesday, November 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, westbound Girard Avenue will be closed between Richmond Street and the Aramingo Avenue overpass. Motorists will be detoured to northbound Aramingo Avenue and follow the signs back to Girard Avenue;
  
• Monday, November 26, through Monday, December 10, Palmer Street will be closed between Delaware Avenue and Salmon Street. Motorists will be detoured to south on Delaware Avenue, right on Frankford Avenue and right on Girard Avenue; and
  
• Wednesday, November 28, and Thursday, November 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the ramp from southbound I-95 to Girard Avenue will be closed. Motorists will be directed to use the spur ramp to southbound Aramingo Avenue, then south on Delaware Avenue, and right on Frankford Avenue to access Girard Avenue.
  

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are subject to change depending on weather conditions.

This work is part of the $312 million project to replace the southbound I-95 viaduct between Palmer Street in Fishtown and Ann Street in Port Richmond as part of the reconstruction of 1.5 miles of southbound I-95 between the Girard Avenue and Allegheny Avenue interchanges.
