Fayette Street Restricted at Three Intersections Next Week for Traffic Signal Installations in Conshohocken Borough

​King of Prussia, PA – Lane restrictions will be in place next week on Fayette Street at the intersections with 3rd Avenue, 9th Avenue and 11th Avenue in Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County on Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM for traffic signal installations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

As part of this project, crews are working to improve safety and traffic flow at 10 intersections along Fayette Street between Elm Street and 11th Avenue. The scope of work includes installing new signal controllers, mast arms, video detection, emergency pre-emption equipment, pedestrian signal heads, and push buttons; and building ADA curb ramps. The improvements will improve the efficiency of the signal operation, and maximize the green time allocation for each signal phase based upon actual traffic demand.

Lenni Electric Corporation. of West Chester, Pa., is the general contractor on the $2.1 million project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in summer 2020.

PennDOT to Repair and Resurface More Than 20 State Highways Across the Philadelphia Region

​King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on several state highways across the Philadelphia region for resurfacing operations as a part of several projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

Bucks County

• Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Swamp Pike between Dark Hollow Road and Old York Road in Buckingham and Doylestown townships for milling and paving operations; and
• Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Aquetong Road between Old Windy Bush Road and Solebury Mountain Road in Solebury Township for milling and paving operations.

Chester County

• Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Route 52 (Lenape Road) between Edgemill Way and Shropshire Road in East Bradford Township for milling and paving operations;
• Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Surgarsbridge Road between Telegraph Road and U.S. 322 (Downingtown Pike) in West Bradford Township for resurfacing operations;
• Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Goshen Road between Sugartown Road and Warren Avenue in Newtown Township for milling and paving operations;
• Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Oakbourne Road between Concord Road and Beechwood Road in Westtown Township for milling and paving operations; and
• Tuesday, August 27, through Thursday, August 29, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on U.S. 30 between Reeceville Road and Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue) in Caln and East Caln townships and Downington Borough for paving operations.

Delaware County

• Sunday, August 25, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) between Concord Country Club Road and Dilworthtown Road in Chadds Ford Township for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, August 25, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Route 352 (Middletown Road) between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Van Leer Avenue in Middletown Township for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, August 25, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Darby Road between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Haverford and Darby townships and Lansdowne Borough for milling and paving operations; and
• Sunday, August 25, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Lansdowne Avenue between Garrett Road Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Upper Darby and Haverford townships for milling and paving operations.

Montgomery County

• Sunday, August 25, through Tuesday, August 27, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Byberry Road between Philmont Avenue and Reading Way for in Lower Moreland Township for paving operations;
• Monday, August 26, through Wednesday, August 28, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Trooper Road and Egypt Road interchanges in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships for road sealing;
• Sunday, August 25, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Perkiomenville Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Route 73 (Big Road) in Upper Fredrick Township for milling and paving operations;
• Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Stenton Avenue between Narcissa Road and Norristown Road in Whitpain Township for milling and paving operations;
• Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Susquehanna Road between Lindsay Lane and Dixon Lane in Abington Township for milling and paving operations; and
• Thursday, August 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) between Tennis Avenue and County Line Road in Horsham and Montgomery townships for milling operations.

Philadelphia County

• Monday, August 26, through Wednesday, August 28, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Linden Avenue between Academy Road and the Interstate 95 Interchange for paving operations;
• Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Levick Street between State Road and Rising Sun Avenue for paving operations and island replacement;
• Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Torresdale Avenue between Kensington Avenue and Linden Avenue for milling operations; and
• Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Lindbergh Boulevard between 63rd Street and Elmwood Avenue for resurfacing operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

U.S. 422, I-95 Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties

​King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on U.S. 422 in Montgomery County and Interstate 95 in Philadelphia for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, August 26, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound U.S. 422 between the Trooper Road and Egypt Road interchanges in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships, Montgomery County;
• Tuesday, August 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Egypt Road and Trooper Road interchanges in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships, Montgomery County;
• Tuesday, August 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Interstate 76 and Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia; and
• Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the I-76 and Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.

​King of Prussia, PA – Tree trimming operations will restrict two state highways next week, on Monday, August 26, through Friday, August 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in Radnor, Newtown townships, Delaware County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Weather permitting, the work schedule is:

• Conestoga Road between Meadowood Road and Boxwood Road in Radnor Township; and
• Goshen Road between Darby Paoli Road and Route 252 (Newtown Street Road) in Radnor and Newtown townships. 

All traffic during these tree operations will be controlled by flagging. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur.

PECO Energy will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

U.S. 1, Route 132 (Street Road) Closures, Ramp Restrictions at Night Next Week for Construction in Bensalem Township

​King of Prussia, PA – Lane restrictions will be in place on U.S.1 and Route 132 (Street Road) in both directions at night next week for various construction activities and utility installation under a project to reconstruct, widen and improve a 1.3-mile section of the highway in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

• Sunday, August 25, through Thursday, August 29, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, periodic northbound and southbound lane closures will be in place on U.S. 1 between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway for roadway and bridge construction;
• Sunday, August 25, through Thursday, August 29, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, periodic westbound lane closures will be in place on Street Road (Route 132) between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way for roadway and bridge construction; and
• Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, eastbound Route 132 (Street Road) will be reduced to a single lane between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way for installation of a natural gas line. In addition, periodic restrictions will be in place on the ramp from southbound U.S.1 to eastbound Street Road (Route 132) during the utility work.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather permitting.

The work is part of a corridor improvement project, and the first of three construction contracts, to rebuild and widen U.S. 1; replace aging bridges; and install safety enhancements along a four-mile section of the expressway from just north of Philadelphia to just north of Route 413 (Pine Street) in Middletown Township and Langhorne Borough.
