Curb Work Continues on County Line Road in Warminster Township

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that curb work continues on County Line Road in Warminster Township, Bucks County, under a $14.9 million project to upgrade stormwater management facilities on more than 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Monday, October 28, through Friday, November 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on County Line Road between Route 332 (Jacksonville Road) and Madison Avenue.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.

Highway Materials, Inc. of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.

Pipe Replacement Scheduled on Route 841 (Chesterville Road), Hibernia Road in Chester County

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that pipe replacement is scheduled on Route 841 (Chesterville Road) and Hibernia Road in Chester County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction: 

• Monday, October 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Route 841 (Chesterville Road) will be closed between Stricklersville Road and Route 896 (Newark Road/New London Road) in Elk, New London, and Franklin townships. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Stricklersville Road, Appleton Road, and Route 896 (New London Road).
• Wednesday, October 30, and Thursday, October 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Hibernia Road will be closed between Cedar Knoll Road and Route 82 (Manor Road) in West Brandywine Township. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Route 82 (Manor Road) and Cedar Knoll Road.
  

​Local access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Bridge Construction Continues Monday on Ridley Avenue Under Sellers Avenue Bridge Improvement Project in Ridley Park Borough

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge construction continues Monday on Ridley Avenue under a $9.9 million project to replace the Sellers Avenue bridge superstructure in Ridley Park Borough, Delaware County. 

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Monday, October 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Ridley Avenue between Swarthmore Avenue and Morton Avenue for concrete foundation construction.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent. 

Under this project, PennDOT's contractor will remove and replace the Sellers Avenue bridge superstructure with a 75-foot-long concrete box beam bridge with two 12-foot travel lanes and sidewalks on both sides. New concrete material will be placed behind the existing stone masonry abutments to increase stability.  

Improvements will also occur on the approach roadways to the bridge including East Ridley Avenue, Sellers Avenue, and Hinkley Avenue. Construction includes milling and resurfacing, stormwater management, and ADA curb installation.

Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) Bridge Construction to Close U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) Weeknights in West Goshen Township

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that superstructure replacement on a Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) bridge will close a section of U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) in West Goshen Township, Chester County.  

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction: 

• Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 15 from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) will be closed weeknights in both directions between Phoenixville Pike and New Street.

During the closure, westbound U.S. 322 motorists will be directed to use the Paoli Pike Interchange, Gay Street, North High Street, Chestnut Street, Hannum Avenue, and Downingtown Pike. Eastbound U.S. 322 motorists will be directed to use Business U.S. 322, Hannum Avenue, N. New Street, Market Street, West Chester Pike, and the ramp to U.S. 322/U.S. 202 South.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.  

On December 21, 2023, Route 100 (Pottstown Pike), U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass), and the ramp from Route 100 to eastbound U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) were closed after a large vehicle struck the Route 100 bridge over the U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass).

PennDOT's contractor had previously repaired the structure and a section of U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass) where debris from the bridge strike had fallen onto the roadway.

Built in 1955, the single-span, steel stringer Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) bridge over U.S. 322 is 77-feet-long, 80-feet-wide, and carries about 15,691 vehicles per day.

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge deck repair is scheduled on the bridge carrying Strickersville Road over Big Elk Creek in Elk and Franklin townships, Chester County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction: 

• Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 15, Strickersville Road will be closed 24/7 between Route 841 (Chesterville Road) and Mount Olive Road. During the closure, motorists are directed to use Route 841 (Chesterville Road), Route 896 (New London Road), and Appleton Road.

Built in 1938, the Strickersville bridge over Big Elk Creek carries approximately 725 vehicles, daily.

Bridge Inspections Scheduled on I-95 Girard Point Bridge, I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) in Philadelphia

King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge inspections are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 Girard Point Bridge and I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Monday, October 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating moving lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) between the I-76 and the Broad Street interchanges.
• Wednesday, October 30, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM, a moving lane closure is scheduled on the southbound deck of the I-95 Girard Point Bridge.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.

PA Turnpike Bridge Construction to Restrict U.S. 422, N. Gulph Road at Night Next Week in Tredyffrin, Upper Merion Townships

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that overhead bridge construction is scheduled at night next week on U.S. 422 and N. Gulph Road in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, and Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, under a Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission project to widen and improve its bridges between mileposts 324-326.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Tuesday, October 29, and Wednesday, October 30, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place on westbound U.S. 422 between U.S. 202 and 1^st Avenue.
• Tuesday, October 29, through Friday, November 1, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will be in place in both directions on N. Gulph Road between 1^st Avenue and U.S. 202.
  

Motorists should use caution and be prepared for slow or stopped traffic approaching the work areas. The schedule is weather dependent.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
