Lane Closures Next Week in Philadelphia for I-95 Construction

Lane Closures Next Week in Philadelphia for I-95 Construction

12/30/2015-KING OF PRUSSIA

Motorists will encounter lane restrictions at night early next week on
Interstate 95, Aramingo Avenue, and U.S. 322 for construction at the
Cottman
Avenue (Route 73), Betsy Ross Bridge/ Aramingo Avenue, and Girard Avenue
interchanges in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation

(PennDOT) announced today.

This construction is associated with improvements underway to improve the
ramp
system at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange, and to rebuild
the
Cottman Avenue (Route 73) and Girard Avenue interchanges and reconstruct
and
widen more than three miles of I-95 adjoining those interchanges.

The work schedule is:

• On Monday, January 4, and Tuesday, January 5, I-95 north will be reduced
from
three lanes to two between the Girard Avenue and Allegheny Avenue
interchanges
in Philadelphia from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning to relocated

utility poles;

• On Monday, January 4, through Friday, January 8, Aramingo Avenue will be
closed and detoured between York Street and Delaware Avenue in Philadelphia

from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for overhead bridge construction. Aramingo Avenue
through traffic will be detoured over Cumberland Street, Richmond Street,
Beach
Street and Delaware Avenue. Motorists will still be able to access the ramp
to
I-95;

• On Monday, January 4, through Friday, January 8, the left lane will be
closed
on southbound and northbound Aramingo Avenue between Wheatsheaf lane and
Church
Street in Philadelphia from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for
overhead bridge construction. Motorists will also face 15-minute traffic
stoppages; and

• On Tuesday, January 5 and Wednesday, January 6, the right lane will be
closed
on eastbound U.S. 322 between Dutton Street and Highland Avenue in Chester
Township, Delaware County, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for sign relocation.

I-95 motorists should expect slow moving traffic and delays entering the
work
zones. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
