I-76, I-95, U.S. 1 Restricted Next Week for Sign Structure and Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Single lane closures are scheduled next week on several state highways in Philadelphia including Interstate 76 and Interstate 95 for sign structure and bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, March 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound or southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the Broad Street (Route 611) and 9th Street interchanges for bridge inspection;
  • Monday, March 9, and Tuesday, March 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right or left lane closures is scheduled on northbound and southbound I-95 between the Woodhaven Road (Route 63) and Betsy Ross Bridge (Route 90) interchanges for overhead sign structure inspection;
  • Monday, March 9, and Tuesday, March 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right or left lane closure is scheduled on northbound or southbound I-95 between the Woodhaven Road (Route 63) and Betsy Ross Bridge (Route 90) interchanges for bridge inspection;
  • Monday, March 9, through Wednesday, March 11, and Saturday, March 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on westbound Route 291 (George C. Platt Memorial Bridge) between 26th Street and Island Avenue for bridge inspection;
  • Tuesday, March 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound or southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Wissahickon Avenue and Henry Avenue for bridge inspection;
  • Wednesday, March 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right or left lane closure is scheduled on eastbound or westbound I-76 between the Passyunk Avenue and Grays Ferry interchanges for overhead sign inspection;
  • Thursday, March 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right or left lane closure is scheduled on the ramp from eastbound Interstate 76 to northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) for bridge inspection;
  • Thursday, March 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right or left lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between Aramingo Avenue and I-676/Callowhill interchanges for overhead sign inspection;
  • Thursday, March 12, and Friday, March 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound Route 291 (George C. Platt Memorial Bridge) between Island Avenue and 26th Street for bridge inspection;
  • Friday, March 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on the southbound or northbound local lanes on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Hornig Road/Crown Way and Byberry Road for bridge inspection; and
  • Saturday, March 14, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a right or left lane closure is scheduled on westbound I-76 between the northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) and Lincoln Drive/Kelly Drive interchanges for bridge inspection.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
