I-76, I-95 Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA – Motorists may encounter lane closures on several state highways in Philadelphia next week, including Interstate 76 and Interstate 95, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Monday, May 4, on eastbound I-76 between University Avenue and 28th Street interchanges;
- Monday, May 4, through Wednesday, May 6, on southbound I-95 between Island Avenue and Bartram Avenue interchanges;
- Tuesday, May 5, on westbound I-76 between University Avenue and South Street interchanges;
- Tuesday, May 5, on Front Street between Oregon Avenue and Packer Avenue;
- Wednesday, May 6, on Tacony Street between Aramingo Avenue and Fraley Street;
- Thursday, May 7, on Bartram Avenue between I-95 and Island Avenue;
- Thursday, May 7, on northbound and southbound I-95 between Columbus Boulevard and Interstate 676 interchanges; and
- Friday, May 8, on eastbound and westbound I-76 between Montgomery Drive and Girard Avenue interchanges.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because slowdowns will occur. All schedule activities are weather dependent.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.
