U.S. 1 (City Avenue) Lane Closure for Local Lighting Improvement Project in Lower Merion Township, Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – U.S. 1 (City Avenue) motorists will encounter a weekday right lane closure in both directions between Lapsley Lane and 52nd Street/Maple Avenue in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County and Philadelphia County, on Monday, June 28, through Friday, July 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for construction activities under a local lighting improvement project, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. No work is scheduled on Friday, July 2, or Monday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day, July 4th.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the construction area because backups and slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

This local municipal project consists of installing and updating lighting along the corridor to improve visibility for the traveling public.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay
warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
