Resurfacing Scheduled on Several State Highways Next Week in Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is scheduled on several state highways next week in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties under several projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.

The work schedules and locations are:

Philadelphia

  • Monday, November 7, through late December, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, periodic lane closures are scheduled on Market Street between Juniper Street and 4th Street for bus lane patch repairs; and
  • Beginning 9:00 AM, Monday, November 7, through 3:00 PM, Friday, November 11, a 24/7 left lane closure is scheduled on the southbound U.S.1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) inner lane between Rhawn Street and Grant Avenue for inlet repair.

Bucks County

  • Monday, November 7, through Tuesday, November 15, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane closures are scheduled on Lincoln Highway at the Tyburn Road/Woolston Drive Intersection in Falls Township for milling and paving.

Chester County

  • Sunday, November 6, through Friday, November 11, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Doe Run Station Road between Gum Tree Road and the West Marlborough Township line in Highland Township for milling and paving;
  • Monday, November 7, through Friday, November 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Charlestown Road between Swiss Lane and Pickering Dam Road in Charlestown Township for high friction surface treatment;
  • Monday, November 7, through Wednesday, November 16, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Whitford Road between Longwood Drive and Wrights Lane in Uwchlan and West Whiteland townships for high friction surface treatment;
  • Monday, November 7, through Friday, November 11, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Valley Creek Road between Boot Road and Ravin Road in East Caln and East Bradford townships for milling and paving;
  • Monday, November 7, through Friday, November 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Newark Road between the Delaware state line and Broad Run Road in New Garden Township for milling and paving;
  • Tuesday, November 8, through Friday, November 11, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Spring Mill Road between Burnt Mill Road and Norway Road in Kennett Township for milling and paving;
  • Monday, November 7, though Friday, November 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Dowlin Forge Road between Route 282 (Creek Road) and the Dowlin Forge Road bridge over East Branch Brandywine Creek in East Brandywine and Uwchlan townships for milling and paving; and
  • Monday, November 7, through Friday, November 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) between Hanover Street and Temple Road in North Coventry Township for milling and paving.

Delaware County

  • Sunday, November 6, through Friday, November 11, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Larkin Road between Route 491 (Naamens Creek Road) and Chichester Avenue and Bethel Avenue between U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) and Dutton Street in Upper Chichester Township for milling and paving;
  • Sunday, November 6, through Friday, November 11, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Eagle Road between Wayne Avenue and King of Prussia Road in Radnor Township for milling and paving;
  • Monday, November 7, through Wednesday, November 9, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Mill Road between Route 491 (Naamans Creek Road) and Bethel Road in Upper Chichester Township for milling and paving;
  • Monday, November 7, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on St. Davids Road between Church Road and the Route 252 (Darby Paoli Road) Interchange in Newtown and Radnor townships for base repair;
  • Monday, November 7, through Friday, November 11, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Bethel Road/Concord Road between the U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) Interchange and the westbound U.S. 322 on ramp to Concord Road in City of Chester and Chester and Upper Chichester townships for milling and paving;
  • Monday, November 7, through Thursday, November 10, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Gulph Creek Road between King of Prussia Road and County Line Road in Radnor Township for milling and base repair; and
  • Wednesday, November 9, and Thursday, November 10, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Bryn Mawr Avenue between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and the Bryn Mawr Avenue bridge over Darby Creek in Newtown and Radnor townships for paving.

Montgomery County

  • Monday, November 7, and Tuesday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Cowpath Road between Route 113 (Harleysville Pike) and County Line Road in Salford and Franconia townships for paving;
  • Tuesday, November 8, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Barndt Road between Old Sumneytown Pike and Route 563 (Ridge Road) in Upper Salford Township for base repair;
  • Tuesday, November 8, through Friday, November 11, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Davisville Road between Route 611 (Old York Road) and County Line Road in Upper Moreland Township for milling and base repair;
  • Tuesday, November 8, through Friday, November 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Old Welsh Road between Route 63 (Edge Hill Road) and Fitzwatertown Road in Abington Township for utility adjustments, milling and paving;
  • Wednesday, November 9, through Friday, November 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Knapp Road between U.S. 202 (Parkway) and Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) in Montgomery Township for utility adjustments, milling and paving;
  • Wednesday, November 9, through Friday, November 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Yerkes Road between Route 29 (Collegeville Road) and the end of roadway and on Yerkes Road between Level Road and the end of roadway in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships for utility adjustments, milling and paving; and
  • Wednesday, November 9, and Thursday, November 10, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Lumber Street/Hoppenville Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Geryville Pike in Green Lane Borough and Marlborough Township for base repair.    

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. Local access All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these resurfacing projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
