From our partners at the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety and National Weather Service (NWS):

NWS has issued a flood watch in effect from 7pm tonight through 7pm Thursday. The combination of higher confidence in 1.5 to 2" of rainfall with potential for 3" in localized areas and discussions with the River Forecast Center in State College PA lead to issuing a Flood Watch this morning. The WPC Excessive Rainfall Outlook has also been increased to a Slight Risk across the region.

The latest information regarding this system is below:

1. Locally heavy rainfall with event total amounts up to 1" to 2", with the highest amounts southeast of I-95, may result in instances of isolated flooding in urban, poor drainage areas and along creeks and streams. The heaviest rain will pass through tonight, between 6 PM and 4 AM.

2. Winds will be relatively light in most of our region from this system. The highest winds will be on the coast, but even there we only expect some localized gusts of 25 mph on Wednesday evening.

A road closure is scheduled for Tuesday, December 19, and Wednesday, December 20, on Hobbs Road, on the border of Upper Merion Township and Tredyffrin Township. The road will be closed to all traffic at the intersection of Hobbs Road and Seaton Ross Road to facilitate a sanitary sewer connection in the center of the street. Steel plates will be installed to ensure the road is passable overnight.

Residents who live on Hobbs Road will be able to access their property from King of Prussia Road and residents who live on Seaton Ross Road will be able to access their property from Weadley Road.

A portion of Dillon Road will be closed beginning Tuesday, November 14th due to a repaving project. A detour will be in pace via Limekiln Pike/Fort Washington Avenue/Bell Lane. The detour is estimated to be required for five weeks (excluding Thanksgiving) until 12/15 with curb work for the first three weeks and milling/leveling/paving for the final two weeks.

Some driveway access may be restricted as a part of the curb installation. The Contractor has been informed that these restrictions need to be for the shortest time possible and that coordination with affected homeowners is required.

The "Code Red" declaration that was issued for Montgomery County has been extended to Thursday, September 7 at 8pm.

Code Red Hot Weather Health Warnings are issued in anticipation of an oppressively hot air mass with a heat index of 100ºF or greater. Such conditions can be deadly, and residents should take precautions to prevent heat-related stress and illness. Those especially at risk are very young children, elderly adults, and people with chronic medical conditions, and who take certain medications. Friends, relatives, or neighbors should check on people who may be at risk. Seek medical attention if you are experiencing symptoms of heat-related illness — including muscle cramps, headache, nausea, or vomiting.

Residents of Montgomery County who need emergency shelter during a "Code Red" can call the Your Way Home Call Center at 2-1-1.

HELPFUL TIPS
~Drink plenty of non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated beverages.
~Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
