Bridge Inspection Scheduled Sunday on I-76 West Ramp to I-676 East in Philadelphia
King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge inspection is scheduled Sunday on the westbound Interstate 76 ramp to eastbound I-676 in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Sunday, January 5, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the westbound I-76 ramp to eastbound I-676 will be closed. During the closure, westbound motorists are directed to use the Girard Avenue/Philadelphia Zoo Interchange and eastbound I-76.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The inspection is part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
