Strickersville Road Bridge Over Big Elk Creek Reopens in Elk, Franklin Townships

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the bridge that carries Strickersville Road over Big Elk Creek in Elk and Franklin townships, Chester County, reopened this morning following bridge deck repair.

Built in 1938, the structure was closed for repair in early November. Approximately, 725 vehicles travel over the bridge, daily.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
