PennDOT to Begin Bridge Construction on Route 113 (Souderton Road)

PennDOT to Begin Bridge Construction on Route 113 (Souderton Road) in Hilltown Township

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction will begin Monday, January 20, on a project to replace the bridge carrying Route 113 (Souderton Road) over Branch of Mill Creek in Hilltown Township, Bucks County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

Local access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Built in 1922, the existing 13-foot-long, 26-foot-wide structure carries an average of 8,484 vehicles per day.

Souderton Road bridge is one of seven structures in Bucks and Montgomery counties that PennDOT is rehabilitating or replacing under this $7,987,000 project.

Loftus Construction, Inc. of Cinnaminson, New Jersey, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
