EMERGENCY DECLARATION NARBERTH BOROUGH

Ban on Open Burning October 31, 2024 until November 7, 2024, unless extended by Narberth's Borough Council
Given the historic current drought, lack of rainfall and high winds, and the potential for uncontrollable fire spread, as the Mayor of Narberth Borough, I am declaring a ban on all open burning until November 7, 2024, unless extended by Narberth's Borough Council.

This declaration is made after consultation with the Narberth Fire Department, the Borough's Emergency Management Coordinator and the Chair of the Public Safety Committee of Council. This burn ban prohibits all non-cooking {propane, natural gas and charcoal) related open burning. The ban includes open fires, including recreational fire pits, chimineas and fireworks. The ban does not include a small candle placed inside of a pumpkin for the purpose of decoration on Halloween, so long as the candle remains supervised.

All Borough emergency response leaders have been informed of the open burn ban. Borough Police officers are directed to enforce this ban until further notice.

The Borough of Narberth is committed to the safety of its residents, visitors, businesses and neighbors.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Mayor Andrea Deutsch
