U.S. 202 Lane Closure Scheduled One Night Next Week in Chester County

Overnight travel restrictions will be in place one night next week on U.S.
202
south for construction between the Route 401 and U.S. 30 interchanges in
East
Whiteland Township, Chester County, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation announced today.

The work is part of the $63.3 million project to widen and reconstruct 2.5
miles of U.S. 202 from north of Route 401 to U.S. 30, and rebuild and
improve
the Route 401 Interchange.

From 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 1, to 5:00 AM Wednesday, March 2, U.S. 202
south
will be reduced to one lane between the Route 401 and U.S. 30 interchanges
for
work on an overhead sign.

In addition, continuing road reconstruction on Route 401 (Conestoga Road)
at
the U.S. 202 Interchange in East Whiteland Township may require periodic
lane
closures and brief stoppages Monday, February 29, through Friday, March 4,
from
9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and on Saturday, March 5, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

All scheduled activities are dependent on the weather.

Motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel and use extra
care
when driving through the work zone.

Construction to expand U.S. 202 from north of Route 401 to U.S. 30,
including
work at the Route 401 Interchange, is being performed by Allan A. Myers, LP
of
Worcester, Montgomery County. The project is scheduled to finish in late
summer
2016.
