County, beginning Monday, June 4, for water main replacement, the

• Mondays through Fridays, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions with
flagging are scheduled on Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) between Fitzwatertown
Road
and Twining Road;
• Mondays through Thursdays, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning,
lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Route 152 (Limekiln Pike)
between Twining Road and Jeffrey Drive; and
• Mondays through Thursdays, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning,

Southbound Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) is scheduled to close at the
Farmington
Avenue Interchange in Upper Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, on
Sunday,
June 3, through Thursday, June 7, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM, for painting of
the
structure carrying Farmington Avenue over Route 100 (Pottstown Pike), the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
During this operation, southbound Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) motorists will
be
directed to exit at Farmington Avenue and then re-enter the highway at the
entrance ramp at the interchange.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the
construction area because slowdowns will occur. The work schedule is
weather
dependent.
On May 7, PennDOT reopened the bridge carrying Farmington Avenue over Route
100
(Pottstown Pike) following a six-week rehabilitation project which included
repairing the existing concrete bridge deck using hydro demolition and
applying
a latex modified concrete overlay; replacing the existing deck joints;
resetting the bearings; upgrading safety features and milling and paving
the
bridge approaches.
The Farmington Avenue bridge over Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) was built in
1964.
The one-span, welded, steel-I beam bridge is 113 feet long, 45 feet wide
and
carries an average of 4,494 vehicles a day.
The structure is one of 11 bridges in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery
counties
that PennDOT is repairing under a $5,505,505 project financed by Act 89,
the
state's transportation plan.
Structures completed under this project include:
• Gypsy Lane over Interstate 76 in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery
County;
• Northbound U.S. 1 over Church Road in New Garden Township, Chester
County;
• Southbound U.S. 1 over Church Road in New Garden Township, Chester
County;
• Cowpath Road over Perkiomen Creek in Salford and Franconia townships,
Montgomery County;
• Township Road over U.S. 1 in Lower Oxford Township, Chester County;
• University Road bridge over U.S. 1 in Upper Oxford Township, Chester
County;

lighting system in the covered section of I-95 near Dock Street in
Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced
today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, June 4, through Friday, June 8, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the ramp
from Columbus Boulevard to I-95 North will be closed. During construction,
motorists wanting access to I-95 North will be directed to continue north
on
Columbus Boulevard and follow signs to make a left onto I-95 North.
Motorists
who want to access I-95 North to reach I-676 East will be directed to
continue
north on Columbus Boulevard, left on Callowhill Street and follow sign to
I-676
East;
• Monday, June 4, through Friday, June 8, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a left

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today
that
construction will begin Monday, June 11, to rehabilitate the bridge
carrying
Hares Hill Road over French Creek in East Pikeland Township, Chester
County.
PennDOT's contractor will rehabilitate the wrought iron through truss
bridge by
reconstructing damaged and deteriorated wingwalls as needed; reconstructing
stone masonry parapets with reinforced concrete; and installing
powder-coated
brown guiderail to protect the blunt ends of the parapets. In addition, the
scope of work also includes the re-installation of the conserved historic
plaque on the outside of the southeast wingwall as well as placement of
another
plaque commemorating this 2018 rehabilitation.
Due to the nature of construction, Hares Hill Road will be closed and
detoured
between Camp Council Road and Irish Way during the three-month
rehabilitation
project. Beginning Monday, June 11, through late August, Hares Hill Road
motorists will be directed to use Route 113 (Pike Springs Road/Kimberton
Road)
and Route 23 (Schuylkill Road/Ridge Road). Local access will be maintained
up
to the construction zone.
Built in 1867, the one-span, single-lane bridge is 105 feet long, 14 feet
wide,
and carries an average of 4,895 vehicles a day. It is currently posted for
15
tons.
The structure is one of nine bridges in Bucks, Chester, Delaware,
Montgomery
and Philadelphia counties that PennDOT is repairing under a $7,407,987
improvement project financed by Act 89, the state's transportation plan.
The bridges/culverts currently under construction include:
• Morwood Road culvert over a branch of Perkiomen Creek in Franconia
Township,
Montgomery County; and
• Route 232 (Second Street Pike) over a branch of Mill Creek in Wrightstown
Township, Bucks County.
Structures completed under this project include:

The work is part of PennDOT's $26.4 million project to rehabilitate the
northbound and southbound U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak and the U.S.
30/Exton
Bypass ramp, and replace the concrete pavement on the ramps to and from
U.S.
202 and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass. The entire project is expected to be
completed in
fall 2019.

carrying Route 452 (Market Street) over Amtrak and SEPTA railroad tracks in
Marcus Hook Borough and Lower Chichester Township, Delaware County, the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
area
because backups and delays will occur. All traffic during construction will
be
controlled by flagging operations.
Route 452 (Market Street) will continue to remain open to traffic during
construction except for two 28-day closures planned during later stages of
construction. The project is scheduled to finish in fall 2019.
Under this improvement project, PennDOT's contractor is replacing the
17-span
reinforced concrete T-beam bridge with a new four-span, continuous
prestressed
box beam bridge. The new bridge will be 343 feet long, 40 feet wide and
will be
built on a new alignment and widened to meet current design standards.
Crews
will also resurface and regrade new approaches to the bridge.
The bridge was built in 1925 and rehabilitated in 1995. The current
structure
is 656 feet long, 32 feet wide and carries an average of 8,700 vehicles a
day.

the $19,947,624 project that is financed with 80 percent federal and 20
percent

Overnight lane and ramp restrictions will be in place on Interstate 76 next
week near 30th Street in Philadelphia for construction on the viaduct
carrying
Schuylkill Avenue over the expressway between Walnut Street and Market
Street
and on the ramp from westbound I-76 to 30th Street, the Pennsylvania
Department
of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
On Monday, June 4, through Thursday, June 7, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, I-76 will be reduced to a single lane in both directions
between the South Street and Interstate 676 interchanges.
In addition, the ramp from westbound I-76 to 30th Street will close on
Monday,
June 4, through Thursday, June 7, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following
morning
for repairs. Motorists normally using this ramp will be detoured west on
I-76,
east on I-676, exit at 23rd Street, left on 22rd Street, left on the ramp
to
westbound I-676, and east on I-76 to the ramp to 30th Street.
Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow additional time
for
travel on I-76 through the work areas because backups and delays will
occur.
All scheduled activities are subject to change depending on weather
conditions.
Construction crews on the $103.6 million project are repairing or replacing
the
viaduct's deteriorated steel deck beams and cross members and the ramp's
expansion dams and concrete pavement.
PennDOT is rehabilitating the Chestnut Street bridge over the Schuylkill
River
and seven other nearby structures, including those carrying Schuylkill
Avenue
over I-76 between Walnut Street and Chestnut Street, and between Chestnut
Street and Market Street.
In addition to repairing and repainting the steel superstructure and
replacing
the deck of the main bridge carrying Chestnut Street over the Schuylkill
River
and the two Schuylkill Avenue structures over I-76, the project also
includes:
• Rehabilitating two structures on the Interstate 76 on-and-off-ramps
between
Chestnut Street and Walnut Street;
• Resurfacing Chestnut Street from 31st Street to 30th Street, and from
24th
Street to 23rd Street;
• Constructing wider sidewalks and installing decorative barrier and
railings
on the Chestnut Street and Schuylkill Avenue bridges;
• Rehabilitating a 900-foot section of the river wall structure between
I-76
and the Schuylkill River from Market Street and Walnut Street;
• Rehabilitating a 15-foot section of the retaining wall supporting the
Schuylkill River Trail under Chestnut Street;
• Installing new traffic signals, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)
equipment, and street lighting along Chestnut Street between 31st Street
and
23rd Street;
• Replacing millennium lighting on Chestnut Street over the Schuylkill
River;
• Constructing a new trellis at the Chestnut Street Trailhead to the
Schuylkill
River Trail;
• Restriping pavement markings for a bicycle lane on Chestnut Street
between
34th Street and 22nd Street; and
• Installing a new clear acrylic barrier along Amtrak Northeast Corridor
tracks
located on the west side of Schuylkill Avenue between Chestnut Street and
Walnut Street.
The bridges on Chestnut Street and Schuylkill Avenue will be under
construction
concurrently and will remain open for most of the project. There will be
various lane and sidewalk restrictions during the three stages of
construction
that will require shifts in travel lane and sidewalk configurations.
Approximately midway through the project beginning in mid-2019, a detour
will
be in place for about one year on Chestnut Street from Schuylkill Avenue to
23rd Street for the rehabilitation of the structurally deficient bridge
carrying Chestnut Street over the CSX rail lines.
The Schuylkill River Trail will be closed below Chestnut Street for
approximately three months over the winter of 2018-2019 for repairs.
In addition, the on-and-off-ramps at the I-76 Interchange between Chestnut

Overnight lane and ramp restrictions will be in place on Interstate 76 next
week near 30th Street in Philadelphia for construction on the viaduct
carrying
Schuylkill Avenue over the expressway between Walnut Street and Market
Street
and on the ramp from westbound I-76 to 30th Street, the Pennsylvania
Department
of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
On Monday, June 4, through Thursday, June 7, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, I-76 will be reduced to a single lane in both directions
between the South Street and Interstate 676 interchanges.
In addition, the ramp from westbound I-76 to 30th Street will close on
Monday,
June 4, through Thursday, June 7, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following
morning
for repairs. Motorists normally using this ramp will be detoured west on
I-76,
east on I-676, exit at 23rd Street, left on 22rd Street, left on the ramp
to
westbound I-676, and east on I-76 to the ramp to 30th Street.
Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow additional time
for
travel on I-76 through the work areas because backups and delays will
occur.
All scheduled activities are subject to change depending on weather
conditions.
Construction crews on the $103.6 million project are repairing or replacing
the
viaduct's deteriorated steel deck beams and cross members and the ramp's
expansion dams and concrete pavement.
PennDOT is rehabilitating the Chestnut Street bridge over the Schuylkill
River
and seven other nearby structures, including those carrying Schuylkill
Avenue
over I-76 between Walnut Street and Chestnut Street, and between Chestnut
Street and Market Street.
In addition to repairing and repainting the steel superstructure and
replacing
the deck of the main bridge carrying Chestnut Street over the Schuylkill
River
and the two Schuylkill Avenue structures over I-76, the project also
includes:
• Rehabilitating two structures on the Interstate 76 on-and-off-ramps
between
Chestnut Street and Walnut Street;
• Resurfacing Chestnut Street from 31st Street to 30th Street, and from
24th
Street to 23rd Street;
• Constructing wider sidewalks and installing decorative barrier and
railings
on the Chestnut Street and Schuylkill Avenue bridges;
• Rehabilitating a 900-foot section of the river wall structure between
I-76
and the Schuylkill River from Market Street and Walnut Street;
• Rehabilitating a 15-foot section of the retaining wall supporting the
Schuylkill River Trail under Chestnut Street;
• Installing new traffic signals, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)
equipment, and street lighting along Chestnut Street between 31st Street
and
23rd Street;
• Replacing millennium lighting on Chestnut Street over the Schuylkill
River;
• Constructing a new trellis at the Chestnut Street Trailhead to the
Schuylkill
River Trail;
• Restriping pavement markings for a bicycle lane on Chestnut Street
between
34th Street and 22nd Street; and
• Installing a new clear acrylic barrier along Amtrak Northeast Corridor
tracks
located on the west side of Schuylkill Avenue between Chestnut Street and
Walnut Street.
The bridges on Chestnut Street and Schuylkill Avenue will be under
construction
concurrently and will remain open for most of the project. There will be
various lane and sidewalk restrictions during the three stages of
construction
that will require shifts in travel lane and sidewalk configurations.
Approximately midway through the project beginning in mid-2019, a detour
will
be in place for about one year on Chestnut Street from Schuylkill Avenue to
23rd Street for the rehabilitation of the structurally deficient bridge
carrying Chestnut Street over the CSX rail lines.
The Schuylkill River Trail will be closed below Chestnut Street for
approximately three months over the winter of 2018-2019 for repairs.
In addition, the on-and-off-ramps at the I-76 Interchange between Chestnut
Street and Walnut Street will be restricted to a single lane of traffic
during
construction. There will also be nighttime and weekend full closures of the

pavement.

Avenue. The project also included improvements to 22 curb ramps. This work

The left lane is scheduled to close on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Keim
Street and Sanatoga interchanges on Thursday, June 7, and Friday, June 8,
from
9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, for median construction as part of a project to rebuild
1.6
miles of U.S. 422 and construct new structures over the Schuylkill River
and
Norfolk Southern railroad tracks in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery
County.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling on eastbound U.S.
422
through the work area. The operation is weather dependent.
Under this project, PennDOT's contractor is building, in phases, new U.S.
