Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for
Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in
Philadelphia for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, May 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on
northbound Interstate 95 between the Island Avenue and Broad
Street/Pattison
Avenue interchanges;
• Tuesday, May 22, and Wednesday, May 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right
lane
closure is scheduled on eastbound Interstate 76 between the South Street
and
28th Street interchanges;
• Wednesday, May 23, and Thursday, May 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane
closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Island Avenue
and
Broad Street/Pattison Avenue interchanges;
• Thursday, May 24, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on 7th Street between Vine Street and Callowhill Street; and
• Friday, May 25, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on
State Road between Rhawn Street and Ashburner Street.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the
structures.
