I-95 North Left Lane Closure Begins Thursday for Resurfacing in Bucks
County

Northbound Interstate 95 motorists will encounter a left lane closure
between
the Route 132 (Street Road) Interchange and the Neshaminy Creek Bridge
beginning Thursday morning, May 24, for construction activities on a
project to
repair and resurface 13 miles of I-95 in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and
Lower Makefield townships, Bucks County. The left lane closure will be in
place through early June.

PennDOT's contractor will install temporary barrier to channel traffic to
the
right and center lanes during the day from 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM. During the
overnight hours, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, crews will take a second lane and

direct traffic to use the right lane only.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 in the
work
area because significant backups and delays will occur. The contractor's
schedule is weather dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling, overlaying and
rehabilitating existing pavement; performing base repairs; installing new
guide
rail; repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs; performing minor bridge

deck repairs; and installing rumble strips and delineators along the I-95
corridor in Bucks County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed
in
the fall.

James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general

contractor on the $29,633,134 project, which is financed with 80 percent
federal and 20 percent state funds.
