Wolf Administration Announces Completion of Pughtown Road Bridge over French Creek in East Vincent Township

King of Prussia, PA – The Wolf Administration announced today the opening of Pughtown Road Bridge over French Creek in East Vincent Township, Chester County, following the completion of a bridge rehabilitation project.

"Today we complete another bridge project that will improve safety and serve the Chester County area well into the future," Governor Tom Wolf said. "Projects that help maintain our vast transportation network are important to highlight."

PennDOT's contractor rehabilitated the bridge with repairs that include encasing the beam ends and sections of the open steel grid deck in reinforced concrete.

Built in 1937 and reconstructed in 1974, the stringer beam bridge is 108 feet long and 26 feet wide. The structure carries an average of 2,753 vehicles a day.

Structures completed under this bridge group project include:

• Route 313 (Dublin Pike/Swamp Road) over Deep Run in Hilltown and Bedminster townships, Bucks County; and
• Butler Avenue over branch of Neshaminy Creek in New Britain Township, Bucks County.

The other structures scheduled for completion include:

• Route 926 (Street Road) over Radley Run in Westtown and Thornbury townships, Chester County; and
• Two Green Valley Road structures over tributary of Brandywine Creek in Newlin Township, Chester County.

Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in late 2020.

C. Abbonzino Contractors, Inc. of Sewell, N.J., is the general contractor on this $4,040,779 bridge improvement project that is financed with 100 percent state funds.
