I-76 Lane Closures at Night Next Week for Fiber Optic Installation in Philadelphia and Montgomery County

King of Prussia, PA – Single lane closures will be in place on Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in both directions at various locations between the Montgomery Drive and Pennsylvania Turnpike interchanges in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties on Monday, June 17, through Friday, July 21, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM for fiber optic installations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. 

In addition, shoulder closures remain in place on I-76 at various locations between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Montgomery Drive weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and weekends from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel in the work areas because significant backups and delays may occur. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent and subject to change. 

This work is part of the first phase of a long-range multimodal transportation management plan designed to enhance travel and safety along the I-76 corridor between King of Prussia and Philadelphia. For additional details on the program, visit www.transform76.com.
