PECO to Restrict Several State Highways for Utility Improvements Across Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA – PECO Energy is planning single lane closures next week on several state highways in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties for utility construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.  

The work schedule is: 

Chester County  
  • Monday, March 29, through Wednesday, March 31, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) between Planebrook Road and Davis Avenue in East Whiteland Township;
  • Monday, March 29, through Friday, April 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 926 (Street Road) between Northgate Road and Westtown Thornton Road in Thornbury Township; 
  • Monday, March 29, through Friday, April 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on U.S. 322 (High Street) between Union Street and Dean Street in West Chester Borough;
  • Monday, March 29, through Friday, April 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 272 (Christine Road) between Hopewell Road and Diana Circle in West Nottingham Township; and
  • Monday, March 29, through Friday, April 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 926 (Street Road) between Mill Road and Wollaston Road in East Marlborough Township.
Delaware County
  • Sunday, March 28, through Friday, April 2, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 320 (Sproul Road) between Hamilton Road and Chandler Lane in Radnor Township; and
  • Thursday, April 1, through Friday, April 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) between Lynn Boulevard and U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) in Upper Darby Township.
Montgomery County
  • Monday, March 29, through Friday, April 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Route 23 (Schuylkill Parkway) between Valley Forge Road and U.S. 202 (Dekalb Street) in Bridgeport Township; and
  • Friday, April 2, through Sunday, May 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled northbound Route 611 (Old York Road) between Webb Road and Spring Avenue in Cheltenham Township.
Philadelphia County
  • Monday, March 29, through Friday, April 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 22nd Street and 24th Street in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will complete these projects under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

To help make decisions regarding winter travel, motorists are encouraged to "Know Before You Go" by checking conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. Users can also see plow truck statuses and travel alerts along a specific route using the "Check My Route" tool.
