PennDOT Begins High-Friction Resurfacing Project on 25 State Highways
Across Southeast Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will start
construction
Monday, August, 8, on a $4.8 million resurfacing project to improve travel
and
safety on 25 state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and
Philadelphia counties, by installing a high-friction surface treatment to
provide increased friction and grip on pavements in wet and dry conditions.


The work schedule for next week, weather permitting, is:

• Monday, August 8, through Friday, August 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
lane
restrictions are scheduled on Route 52 (Lenape Road) between Edgemill Way
and
Shropshire Drive in East Bradford Township, Chester County;
• Monday, August 8, through Friday, August 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
lane
restrictions are scheduled on Ship Road between Swedesford Road and Old
Valley
Road in West Whiteland Township, Chester County; and
• Monday, August 8, through Friday, August 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
lane
restrictions are scheduled on Boot Road between Quarry Road and Copeland
School
Road in West Whiteland Township, Chester County.

Over the next 12 months PennDOT's contractor will apply high-friction
surface
treatment to the following state highways in the five-county region:

Bucks County

Newportville Road in Bristol Township;
Swamp Road in Wrightstown Township;
Worthington Mill Road in Northampton and Wrightstown townships;
Almshouse Road in Warwick and Doylestown townships; and
Interstate 95 and Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) ramps in Bensalem Township.

Chester County

Route 52 (Lenape Road) in East Bradford Township;
Route 352 (Sproul Road) in East Whiteland Township;
Route 401 (Conestoga Road) in West Vincent township;
Birmingham Road in Birmingham Township; and
Devon State Road in Tredyffrin Township.

Delaware County

Lenni Road in Middletown Township.
Montgomery County

Route 23 (Valley Forge Road in Upper Merion Township;
Schoolhouse Road in Franconia Township;
Hill Road/Park Road in Green Lane Borough and Upper Frederick Township;
Morris Road in Whitpain Township;
Lansdale Avenue in Lansdale Borough;
Terwood Avenue in Upper Moreland Township;
Stenton Avenue in Whitpain and Whitemarsh townships;
Whitehall Road in Worcester Township;
Linfield Trappe Road in Limerick Township; and
Pleasant View Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township.

Philadelphia

Cobbs Creek Parkway in Philadelphia.

The entire project is scheduled to finish in July 2017.

J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on
the
project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state
funds.
