I-95 Lane Closures, Stoppages and Ramp Restrictions Scheduled Next Week in
Philadelphia

Overnight lane closures with brief stoppages, and daytime ramp lane
restrictions on ramps will occur on Interstate 95 next week for
construction
activities between the Bridge Street and Girard Avenue interchanges in
Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced
today.

The work schedule is:

• Sunday, January 14, through Friday, January 19, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM
the
following morning, the left lane will be closed periodically on northbound
I-95
between the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue and Bridge Street
interchanges
for soil borings in the median;

• Monday, January 15, through Friday, January 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
lane
restrictions will be in place periodically on the northbound I-95 ramp to
Aramingo Avenue and on the ramp from the Betsy Ross Bridge to I-95 south
for
soil borings;

• Monday, January 15, and Tuesday, January 16, from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM the

following morning, two left lanes will be closed and full stoppages of up
to 15
minutes will occur periodically on southbound I-95 between the Allegheny
Avenue
and Girard Avenue interchanges for installation of temporary girder support
on
the end of the southbound viaduct; and

• Tuesday, January 16, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, the
left
will be closed on northbound and southbound I-95 at the Betsy Ross
Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange for storm sewer maintenance and soil
borings.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 through the
work
areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The work at on the southbound viaduct is part of the $212 million
reconstruction and widening of I-95 at the Girard Avenue Interchange. The
soil
borings are part of the advance engineering activities related to upcoming
construction at the I-95 Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue and Bridge
Street
interchanges.
