I-95 Girard Point Bridge, Castor Avenue Lane Restrictions Next Week for
Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on the Interstate 95 Girard
Point
Bridge and Castor Avenue in Philadelphia for bridge inspections, the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, December 11, through Wednesday, December 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
the left lane is scheduled to close on the northbound deck of the I-95
Girard
Point Bridge;
• Wednesday, December 13, and Thursday, December 14, from 8:00 AM to 12:00
PM,
a single lane closure and lane shifts are scheduled on northbound Castor
Avenue
between Wingohocking Street and Wyoming Avenue; and
• Wednesday, December 13, and Thursday, December 14, from 12:00 PM to 4:00
PM,
a single lane closure and lane shifts are scheduled on southbound Castor
Avenue
between Wyoming Avenue and Wingohocking Street.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling in the work areas
because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather

dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the
structures.
