Northbound Aramingo Avenue Lane Closure, New Traffic Pattern Begins Saturday in Philadelphia

Northbound Aramingo Avenue Lane Closure, New Traffic Pattern Begins
Saturday in Philadelphia

12/1/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

Northbound Aramingo Avenue will be reduced from two-lanes-to-one for
approximately six months beginning this weekend for construction on the
bridge
over Frankford Creek at the Interstate 95 Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange in
the
Frankford section of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

On Saturday, December 2, from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Aramingo Avenue will be
reduced to a single lane in each direction between the interchange ramps
near
Church Street and Wheatsheaf Lane while crews move barriers, paint new lane

markings and complete other activities to establish the new traffic
pattern.
The new pattern, which will carry two southbound lanes and one northbound
lane
through the work zone, is expected to be in place by 3:00 PM Saturday.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
area.
The contractor's schedule is weather dependent.

PennDOT is replacing the bridge over Frankford Creek as part of a project
to
improve Aramingo Avenue at the interchange and extend Adams Avenue from
Torresdale Avenue to Aramingo Avenue and the ramps to and from I-95 and the

bridge.

A.P. Construction, Inc., of Blackwood, NJ, is the general contractor on the

$81,022,883 project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20
percent
state funds.
